New Fuel brushless version of the M12 Hackzall is due to be released in "Spring 2014." Just spotted this on Milwaukee's site yesterday.

http://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/cordless/2520-21xc

Looks like it'll be offered as a bare tool w/ blade (part no 2520-20) and a kit including one XC 4.0 battery, charger, bag, and a blade (2520-21XC.) According to Toolguyd, the kit is retailing for $199 and the bare tool will run $139.

I've been eyeing the Hackzall for a while, looking for an excuse to buy one. I almost pulled the trigger two days ago when an unplanned home project came up, but Home Depot only had the kit in store and I couldn't justify the cost over the bare tool when I already have six M12 batteries and two chargers. As soon as the Fuel versions start showing up I'm all over it!

I've had the M18 Hackzall for awhile now, but held off on buying the M12, assuming there'd be a Fuel version. Glad I did, as it should be awesome!

My M12 has been doing well so far. I probably won't upgrade unless it's more powerful. Runtime doesn't concern me as much since I have a bunch of batteries.

I got one as a free bare tool when I bought a kit about a year ago and I thought it wouldn't get much use but I use it all the time and love it I use it with xc batteries and never have any issues with it what so ever my majority use with it is yard work believe it or not I've cut down tons of bushes and even some medium size ceder trees with it

Totally called this during all the free bonus tool sales. Glad I waited.

I'm waiting for them to redo the multi-tool, this thing eats batteries like crazy (good thing I have four batteries). Jigsaw is a little old too, could stand to be lighter and smaller.

I need to see them both side by side to warrant jumping on this. If it is much more powerful (the newer batteries have made my current one more powerful) then sure. If it's just battery life then I'll wait till a deal. Plus I like the shape of my current one better.

I do want the new one, just not sure I need it.

I believe he meant an M18 Fuel Hackzall, which is undoubtedly coming.

I'll be putting my M18 Hackzall on Ebay once the M12 Fuel version is available, and then getting myself the M18 Fuel Sawzall. That pairing should cover must anything I'll need a reciprocating saw to do.

Oh, sorry, I have been stupid. I thought sawzall and hackzall were just different names for the same thing. :tard:

Apologies! I shall go and learn the difference now.

m12 hackzall does get warm with extended use, hopefully the m12 fuel version will address that. Will it really be able to compete with m18 hackzall?
