Picked this up last night. it didn't show up on craftsman club online for me but when I asked them about it in store it was on sale. Took (I think) $450 off and the friends and family 10% savings was also good. I got it for 584.99 before tax. Smoking deal!

Pretty good deal, is it the newer or older version??? The newer version have sturdier drawers, they increased the weight load capacity on the drawers, I believe I was told its 75lb limit now.

This should be the newer premium heavy duty model, which actually has drawer ratings of 100lbs. With the top box, the price is $1000.

Damn, a lot better than what they were putting out, but I would like to see them with double drawer sliders, for the bigger drawers, 30 or 40" plus drawers
I was going to get the middle box for my 40' setup, but the damn thing is so flimsy and they were poorly made. I swear the older versions were hit and miss, but now the assemble their box in the USA again. (The newer boxes in stores)
My box was assembled in Mexico and had to return two before I could get a good one.

I just bought this toolbox and roller yesterday for $820 after their friends and family discount. I'd been looking for a 42" combo; but this deal was too good to pass up. Construction actually seemed better than their stainless models.

Why they don't have a full length top drawer on this just baffles me. Haven't they ever talked to a mechanic?

No points. It doesn't show on craftsman club but shows up in store. Newer version, 100lb per drawer

Got mine for for $850. It was $999 club price. Then 10% off for the friends and family sale. Had rewards points to use. They didn't have the bottom in stock so I have to wait. Not bad for a USA made 52" top and bottom tool box. I don't care what the craftsman haters and HF lovers say this box is ever bit as good if not better. I can't wait to get it.

They want you to buy the wide single middle drawer that cost as much as the top box

I'm pretty sure there isn't a middle single drawer for this chest. If there is I cannot find it. But you can always use the top part for long tools

280 is a nice price for the top. I had been trying to find a deal on a 50 something top and couldn't find one.

This is a great deal for the top and bottom both $999 through 3/29. Plus if you buy online you get free delivery. I've been thinking about getting it. Gotta hurry up and make up my mind by end of day tomorrow

saw them on sale in the store today. its for sure the top of the line homeowners box. id bet it would last in a professional setting. not a fan of the griplatch, but the new wider handles help out in function and looks. i was suprised to see it priced so low. not sure ive ever seen the base model 50 inch this cheap. had the base on sale for 380, which i didnt think was a good deal.

id put this box above the HF 56 IF IF IF it had wide drawers. sears has better glides.

It's 2 26" boxes put together resulting a in a very poor drawer layout on my opinion. They are trying to make a longer box without needing to make a new box.

Longer drawers would require more support and would drive up the cost. I'm ok with the drawers in this box, l keep my longer tools in my other boxes.

You get used to it... I have all my long stuff in the top of my box

- 36" striking pry bar
- 24" pry bars
- Breaker bars
- Torque wrench
- 24" extension
- Pedal holding tool
- etc...

I like the smaller drawers side by side- I can keep metric and standard on the same level of drawers, just side by side. I can do the same with phillips and regular screwdrivers. I can keep longer items in the top.

Exactly! You know me haha... Actually I have enough smaller tools to fill the small drawers. This works for me, I can't wait to get better organized, my other boxes are overflowing.

Can't wait to get mine. The lack of full length does kinda ****. But I only do auto electrical so my tools don't require full lenght drawers. I do most of my own work on my vehicles so i do own a few longer tools like prybars but they should all fit. This box should allow me to separate my tools into sections so let's say wire terminal tools can be with other wire service stuff. Instead of with prybars. All door panel and all other interior trim tools can live together. I can have separate drawers for my for torx and hex. Well you get the idea.
