Gawking in my dads tool box yesterday, I seen these two tool brands I've never seen before. Both are made in USA. The tool stamped blue grass was a double box wrench. Would I assume myself if I thought they was made in Kentucky? At first I thought it was a craftsman being it was a satin finish with a raised panel. The tools stamped Vermont tools was a sae set of nut drivers. Never heard of either one being these tools could be from the late 70s to late 80s. Just wondering if anyone has any info on the companies. Maybe how long thyley was in business and quality. Which I'm guessing they must be of decent quaikty being USA and they're still in his box, and in nice shape.

If my memory serves me they were the house brands for Belknap Hardware and I believe the oem for wright Thorsen Barcalo and maybe one other that I am forgetting at this moment (senior moment).

Very nice tools I have maybe two or three of their tools.

As noted earlier, Bluegrass was one of Belknap Hardware's house brands, based in Louisville. The manufacturers that supplied Belknap with Bluegrass branded tools varied over the years. New Britain Machine, Wright, and Thorsen all supplied ratchets and sockets at some point in the brand's history.

Without seeing it, I'm gonna guess that the box wrench with the raised panel was sourced from Barcalo. Are the ends of the raised panel rounded? Does it have a raised panel on one side of the beam and an equal recessed panel on the other side, or an identical raised panel? Do the box ends have a very unique appearance to them?

From what I remember since I didn't study the design too much, it was equally raised on both sides, and didn't catch my eye looking at the boxed ends, so I'm going to say nothing was unique about it. I would say the off set wasn't quite 15* on both sides.
