Hansen trays are very nice, the numbers on top of the posts are convenient, but they are designed to have the sockets upside down. The Lowes clearanced ones are very cheap and allow the sockets to be upside down or rightside up.

It is so you can tell if a socket was put in the wrong place easily. I have the Hansen ones they are great.

How does putting them upside down help tell if a socket was put in the wrong place? And.how can you tell whether not the socket is a 12 point 6 point if its upside down?

This is one of the reasons I didn't go with Hansen. The other was my OCD will kick in if the slots aren't all full!!! Besides that I'm all for them. I just ended up with the three piece craftsmans that are made out of black composite plastic. They work good enough for me.

No I didn't, I usually see them in stores for around $15 apiece. Only reason I was looking was because of the thread about the metal ones, wanted to double check my memory

I have the all black HF trays and am in the process of swapping them out for the red/blue Kobalt trays that were clearanced for $5 last year. The advantage I could see with the Hansen's is you might not have the issue with sockets fitting all the way down over the peg like some of the sockets on the HF trays. I'd rather trim the peg some than spend the money for Hansen's though.
