My driver said it's rated a little stronger head than the 3/8" 80 tooth. Which he had laying there with an extremely long handle (new item), too long I thought. So if the 80 tooth holds up with such a very long handle the gearless FZero with a short handle shouldn't have any strength problems.
Price on the first few is more like $150 couple though he did see the ~$180 price in the computer.
The one pictured is the only one he has at the moment and not willing to sell it yet so he put my name on one of the 3 he has on the way/ordered.

It's incredibly smooth and tight, well obviously it's smooth without any teeth so no clicks... It is also very free, exceptionally easy to turn, and just by hand couldn't feel any backlash though it must have the slightest amount necessary to function.
It's a round head but I wouldn't say it's huge, see the picture beside a normal 80 tooth.

Im sure the long 80 tooth was probably the FLL80

Part of that long handle is in the picture above, It looked way to long to be useful to me, I have the usual long handled Snap-on ratchets that have always seemed plenty long...

Thanks. I want. I have the normal long ones, but this would be great for access on a couple certain areas of the race truck where a 1/2" is just overkill.

Sorry for hijack, back to that ugly gear less thing. :lol_hitti

Believe it or not, scored a FZERO on eBay for $99.99+$6.99 S&H. Came today and I'm eager to use it at work tonight.

No mention of coo?

seriously? it's a snap on...that's US...period...

anyway, don't look that much fatter than the good ole f 80's or even the 100 tooth ratchet...is it only available in a short chrome handle? i'd like a long handle comfort grip flex headed one:willy_nil

I just thought with all of the chatter with the d80's not having USA stamped on them, snapon would be sure to do it on these... Unless its marked on the handle where the pics don't show it

I missed this thread when it started. The ratchet looks ridiculously large. I have an older, made in USA Radian drive 3/8" ratchet. I have had it for just shy of 20 years and it is great. The thing that is (as far as I am concerned) BETTER than the snap on one is mine has a push through drive, so it is shallower than most ratchets. Of course the fact that I paid $12 for it helps as well. I am bookmarking this thread and I will post pics and dimensions of it at some point.

Snap-On hasn't had a ratchet with USA on the head since something like 08. USA started to return at the beginning of last year and has been moved to the handle next to the part number.

My FZERO, along with my recently purchased (within the last year) ratchets have USA next to the part number just as Skin said. Happy to see that, along with USA returning to all the pliers as well.

Is anyone using one of these gearless ratchets as their primary ratchet? I'd like to read some reviews from someone who has put one through it's paces for a few weeks.

The backlash and the price are too high. They aren't even that smooth

Agree about the price but I cant disagre enough about the other two points.

Smooth as silk and the one way action was flawless. Flawless.

I also like the way they are UNlike other round heads in that the direction selection is more intuitive. You move the selector switch in the direction you want to go, NOT the opposite direction that you would with a traditional round head.

Bought a KRL, and got a 3/8 drive Fzero thrown in. Dealer told me retail for the 3/8 would be $179.99, but I haven't seen a print catalog to confirm that for sure.

Used it today, I like it. I would not pay 180 bucks. But I feel it should have a slight price premium over the dual 80s. Very little drag coming back. I "ratcheted" a few bolts out to the point where they fell out. It obviously has back drag, but less than my dual 80. Selector is nice, it occasionally was a little rough to engage, at first. It smoother out throughout the day. They don't seem to have a lot of lube from the factory. Rebuilds would be gravy, but I doubt kits will be out for a while. My dealer had about 12 units in 3/8 drive.

I feel it's a great addition to the snap-on line. I'm no die-hard snap-on guy. I love my GW tools, even my harbor freight 72 tooths. I will be very interested in a 1/4 drive version.

The new HF ratchet thread was 20+ pages............this ratchet must be a bust!

I think the head is too large and the price is a turn off, even for us Snappy ratchet fans.
