Those look IDENTICAL to the Kleins. Color scheme and all. Do they think people will just buy Southwire because they look just like Kleins? Everyone of their pliers are Klein knockoffs.

From my experience Chinese tools look good BUT their metal isn't up to par. If china figures out how to use good metal the they will be viable alternatives.

I've got plenty of Chinese tools but I'd have hard time paying 35bucks for south wire when I could buy Klein, green lee, channel locks.

Even hf pliers have place in my tool collection but not in my electrical box.

Will have to check the supply houses to at least try the Klein version.

I guess they look functionally more like the Knipex. They are like the adopted Chinese child of the Kleins and the Knipex

The chinese only played the cheap labor and materials role in this tool. The real culprit foisting this **** on America is Southwire Tool of Carrolton, Georgia, USA.

The new klein pliers are made in USA and came out AFTER lowes released the Southwire versions.

The Klein ones in my mind are more in response to what Milwaukee offers.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Chinese metal is actually American infrastructure that's been scrapped from places like Chicago, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Detroit and loaded onto cargo ships and sent over to very wealthy Chinese businessmen who then use the crappiest metal to build cheap tools to sell back over seas to try and rebuild the infrastructure with. It's interesting that he says "competencies" and "What we cannot manufacture in the USA..." There is no way we could make a mechanical camera or even a telephone in the USA. I don't think even the facilities exist. The latest head of Apple said the reason his products are made overseas is not because of cost, but because we don't have the expertise to do it.

Of my hand tools, my favorite are the Japanese. That's Asia too.
