I guess you could call it being a "fanboy" or being ****. I know alot of guys only buy SO, but what about mac? Cornwell? Matco? Etc. I'm one of those **** guys who wants everything to match. I like SO tools but not so much my rep. I like the mac rep but question macs quality vs. Prices. Am I crazy wanting this make a set? Most of my stuff now is craftsman, but just not satisfied with some of tools I have from them so looking to go elsewhere.

i dont think any single tool company can make the best of every single product. if you want the best of every kind of wrench, socket, ratchet, ect....... your going to have to branch out

I am not ****, but loyal. I am also not filthy rich so my loyalty goes only so far. To keep this on track I will talk about tools. My brand of choice is SK. Snap On is a close second. Hard line and daily use tools will be either of those 2 brands.

If I buy Matco or Mac I am probably buying someone else's rebranded tool. At that point I am only paying for a name. At least SK and Snap On design, engineer, and build their tools. Putting a name on something you didn't make doesn't promote loyalty for me.

Mac is good quality, if you can get a good rep. Same for Matco.
Cornwell, i have no clue, no reps down here, and can't buy from the site.
Comparing to craftsman, all them are higher quality. Just mho.

Not me. I believe in tool diversity. When I first started in school, I went with Mac because of the sweet student program they had. When I landed in a dealership, I had snap on and Matco dealers but, no Mac.:wtf:
Ebay is my friend. I have many brands in my box and they all perform well.:dunno:

This is one of those times that the difference between they're, there and their really matters.

So no, I am not "out my ****" about brand.

I don't do anything on credit that is "secured". If I buy a truck brand it's almost always "cash" or something I can't find anywhere else. I'm not a people person so I doubt I'd have a good relationship with any driver; that's mainly related to my "no b.s." personality. I only get along with people that talk 1:1/tell the truth up front, the main problem I have with b.s. is that I can read people so I know when they're lying; if someone lies to my face it's disrespectful, a waste of my time, and something I will not accept.

I don't have the best quality stuff but I make it work. Even among the non-truck brands I'm not brand loyal. I'm not brand loyal with just about everything even cigarettes.

For sockets, wrenches, punches, impact sockets I go straight to SK. For ratchets I have both GW 120XPs and Armstrong 88T ratchets. Pliers are Western Forge made craftsman, and I'm replacing some with Channellock and Knipex. As far as specialty tools go, I'm all over the board with brands. Mayhew for picks/pry bars.

I like to pick out brands that are good at certain things.

yes, i have a little OCD. I'd like to try a couple gedore ratcheting wrenches but every time i look at them i end up backing away because nothing else about the brand interests me. Im sure the $50-$60 per wrench and 1yr warranty are also playing a part in my subconcious.

MAC 1/4" universal set, all set to purchase, noticed it has no 5.5mm as in they dont even make one; pass. Wierd part about that is its a fairly useful size and the Proto version of the same sockets includes it.

Stuff like this effects my tool purchases fairly regularly.

The man thing for me is we only get a Snap-on guy.
Matco stops by once in a blue moon, have not seen MAC in about a decade and As soon as I paid Corwell off he stopped coming by, that was at least a year ago.

Im **** about buying the best brand at a price point I can accept....and that means I have multiple brands.

The problem about being a fanboy is you will NOT end up with the best tools.....no matter how much money you spend. Pick any brand....even SnapOn.....and there are certain tools other brands do better.

I wouldn't say I'm "****" about brands, only because one brand does not make "all" tools. I do however, like to make as much of them match as possible. about 75% of my stuff is USA made Allen. I also have some C-Man, S-On, HF, GearWrench, Kobalt, Husky, USA made Stanley, etc...

I'm frugal, in the sense that I only want to buy a tool once, so I'll skip the cheap stuff that doesn't last. As far as brands go, the only truck-brand I really support is Snap-On, and that's only for things that need a hard-handle, mostly. I like to seek out the OEM stuff they re-brand, and pay less for the same thing, for certain things. That variety brings spice to my life. I'm more **** about COO than anything else, and I'm starting to appreciate the Taiwan stuff a lot more lately.

I'm not loyal to one brand. Far as hard line stuff goes it's SO, MAC, and SK for me. I also have stuff by Cornwell, Wiha, Hazet, Bondhus, Elora and so on. Most top tier brands are represented in my tool boxes.

I was reorganizing my spark plug sockets the other day, and found 12 different brands represented.........

Not really, I just want the tools I buy to hold up and if its something that's going to see a lot of use I dont mind paying up for a good brand with a warranty. I have probably 15 or 20 different brands in my box from Snap On to Northern Tool. I dont really care if my stuff dont match I just want everything to make its way back to my tool box after I am done with a project. I pisses me off to have to buy tools twice because I was careless and lost something.

Well, I'm very specific in certain categories such as:
Hammers: Estwing
Wrenches/Ratchets: Craftsman and Husky
Pliers: Channel lock

I ONLY BUY THINGS MADE IN USA. The things I have are all Made in USA so I guess that is what I'm "****" about.
