Some of my PB Swiss tools: drivers, mallets, allen keys are some of my favorite tools. Esp. the longer drivers in both torx and cabinet style. I'm sort of saddened that the flood of discounts previously available is probably no more. That nail driver set I got was fantastic. As were the chisels. I guess everything has a good run and then sometimes that's it:(

Seems like PB Tools fubared there US distribution with that Amazon fiasco, too bad I like them too, just not at too exotic of a price.

Anyone ever get the inside scoop about what happened with their US distribution exactly? They must’ve not cared for the fact that this stuff was being sold in a fire sale. It perhaps hurt the brand image in the US. Though it did get a lot of guys to try them here. I was wondering if anyone know any details about their entire distribution plan then and now? Just curious. Curious too whether they sold direct to amazon or through a 3rd party. IRRC, amazon was selling them direct and then the discounting began. Which couldn’t have helped their 2 or 3 US distributors who had websites at the time.

Never mind:) Just found an older thread from 2011 discussing some of the distribution scheme and what was what. Though no one seemed to have a complete grip on it.

That said, the PB Swiss crowbar for $100 looks incredible. I just got an Armstrong crowbar, so am good. But would have loved to have had that one. Looks beautifully made.

It would be nice if there was at least any sort of discount, paying retail never feels too good...

No, but if it’s real quality, it hurts less. You (or at least me) just get less stuff if it’s more expensive. I didn’t go crazy enough on the old PB Swiss sales.

I will say that the nail punches and pin punches are something I’d pay full retail for. IIRC, the drivers aren’t more expensive than SO, and I’ve paid SO prices and would get the PB on those too. Warranty or not, since I can’t see destroying my drivers.
