Anyone have any sure fire methods for cleaning the slag and buildup from the blade guard and table of a chop saw.

Flick it with the end of my finger to knock the "icicle" off.
Rest gets sucked up with the vacuum cleaner, or blown off with the air hose.

If your talking about the stuff that get stuck you have to scrap off just spray it with pam when clean and it won't stick you can wipe it off. Don't soak it because it is slightly flamable. I use it for welding splatter spray works great and doesn't cost $10 a can.

Metal or wood saw?My metal saw dont ever really get dirty as it has a carbide blade like the wood ones have.

The wood one I just brush and blow it off after every use and it stays clean that way.
