I plucked this from SD and thought there might be interest here. This sounds like a decent set for only $19.97. (maybe cheaper if there are any 10% off coupons floating around)

There are lots of them in local stores and you can also buy online.

I don't know if these are Taiwan or China. Hopefully Taiwan if they're discontinuing the SKU. Reviews are good.

I got a set of metric like this and man are they the worst fitting sockets I have ever used. I assumed Kobalt and Taiwan would be good, but boy was I wrong.

Just an FYI for anyone that buys these.

P.S. This coupon code knocks $2.00 off the price.

I bought this same set as posted above when they first came out because I had read good things but I found the same as you that they were total junk. The ratchet itself seems to be pretty decent and the sockets look nice but when you actually go to use them they are not even close to be snug fitting and rock back and forth on the nut even when you know for sure you are using the correct size. I ended up giving it to my brother in law because he will use a socket maybe once in 3 years.

I checked them using some different size bolts against my Proto 12pt sockets and I noticed only slightly more play in the fit. I didn't think it was too bad for a set that sold for about 10% of what my Proto set cost.

Purchased a set last night for 17.97 at my local Lowes with a Military discount. Test fitted against my Protos like "wvrailroader" did. I agree with him not too bad for a set that cost about 10% of what my Proto set cost. Now I have an inexpensive set for my truck box! Good call by wvrailroader. Thanks!

I have a couple of these sets I bought 1+ years ago. Have used them to change brakes, control arms and a few other things and no problems.

Coach

I also bought my set 3 yrs ago for my road side tool kit and have had zero issues.
I use them a couple times a month and have loaned them to friends to use, and they can break anything.
