Anyone have or used the Harbor Freight 50ft, 3/8th hose reel?? I have the coupon in hand for $69. Im having a hard time letting go 250-300 for a reel craft, especially when my building needs so much other things, i.e. insulation, exhaust fan, heater, etc. etc. For as much as I would use it or as seldom as I would vs the $500 ones at my work from Grainger, Im thinking this should suit my home shop needs. On the advertisement it states street trucks and truckin magazine endorse it...is this true or just a way for me to buy one. Any input is greatly appreciated.:)

i've had one for i guess over 10 years. don't know if they are still the same, but other than the hose cracking up a bit (no leaks) it has been great. in fact i can't wait to hang it in the new garage. it's been laying on the barn floor for the past 4 years.

I have had mine for about 10 years. It is fantastic. If I move into a bigger place, I will get a few more. Mine has worked very well and had zero problems. It gets used a couple of times a week and is out of the sun. My hose still looks new.

yup, that one looks just like mine. i clean my hoses pretty often with a gasoline soaked rag, so that is probably why mine is in not so good shape.

buy it!

I have both, Reel Craft and the HF. I was skeptical at first buying the HF, but after using it for a while I like it enough to get another :)

This is still good till June, maybe you can use it, a $10 gift for ya…

I have it and my only complaint is that I feel my spring should be tighter. It doesn't reel up the last 5 ft some times.

I agree. have 4 in my shop. The ones close to the door and the sunlight are starting to crack after a few years, but no leaks. get the 50 footer for sure, forget the 25 foot one. Also a few turns on the spring will solve the rollback problem.

I like what you did with your compressor there. Nice way to save space, or rather make use of an almost unusable space.

IN fairness to RC, it was a 1/4" line and about 25 ft. I sold it and got the Chinese reel with 3/8 and 50 ft. My point was that I wasn't so in love with the reel craft that I had to go buy another. I'm sure on a service truck or commercial whatever, they are the cats ***, but DIY .... Save your sheckles...
