Well I posted a thread a while back about my lift.
It came scratched and a little smashed. All cosmetic it turned out.
Bend Pak compensated me with some under lift jack stands and spray paint.
They were supposed to send the decal but it was not in the box. Not a big deal.
The shipping frames where both bent pretty good. That was one of the reasons I initially declined to receive it. Plus the gouges in paint and damaged box for pump.
After going though their customer service and they agreed to compensate me with Items up to $200.00,and if there was any concealed damage they would take care of it. I agreed to accept as I figured the next one could be even worse. Con-Way trucking is the one responsible for the damage. But since it was basically just wrapped in stretch wrap and cardboard not a lot of protection from the fork lift jockeys.I still think their method of packaging is ****.
So its finally in. Used it today for a GOF and DSG service on my TDI.
Gonna make things a heck of lot easier to do now.
Next on it the F350 Crew cab, long bed,4x4,6.0 PS...almost 9K....little bigger than the Jetta.

Congrats and don't worry about any scratches, you'll be adding your own to it pretty soon. It's a tool and if it's going to be used it will start getting nicks here and there.

It looks like it was always a permanent part of your shop and will allow you to tackle so many things you never would have attempted before.

GAs.....how tall are your ceilings in you garage, and how comfortably do you stand underneath the car to work on things? Could you post a pic with someone under the car.

I also see the you lift is asymmetrical as far as the post being set. I was looking o Bendpaks site, and what I thought I was understanding was that the legs were asymmetrical, but the post still set in place symmetrically. I was looking at their 9000 lb. hoist though.

Did you have any trouble getting anything set, or any problems like that beside the scratches and dents?

My lift is a XPR-10 Symmetrical. Ceiling height is 12'-10"
I am 6'4" and its a little short on lift height for me but it is a hell of lot better than crawling around on concrete with a creeper.
Not enough ceiling height for the 168" Lift.

please post the pics of your f350 on there. I have the same truck and a XPR-10A-LP not installed yet.

Yours looks awesome!

I have my "A" model beams on the floor and installing the cables today. Seems like the button ends will keep falling off their anchors until tension is applied to the cables. You find this to be any problem?

BTW..happy to hear you had no further problems. My pump box was smashed and torn open so I wondered if anything was missing..appears to be all here, but I did take pics and report the situation.

LOL, who's pump box hasn't been smashed? :dunno:

Mine looked like some fat *** sat right on it. I opened it there and it was fine.

I had the same issue. I got mine to stay once columns were vertical.
I thought the overall assembly instructions sucked.

The 2 cables on the "A" model are different lengths,, I studied the manual for an evening trying to decided which cable goes where..no mention of it. The next day I installed them with the short cable on the power side so I could see how they were routed and maybe understand how it works.
I've decided that the difference is the spacing on top plate pulleys and that the cables can be installed either way. I think I am right, maybe not. A minor mention of this would have saved me a 1/2 day reading and re-reading trying to understand different cable lengths, then figuring it out on my own.
I'm not a dummy, but I don't want this thing installed wrong and have to start over.

The instructions are written more like a check off list for someone that has installed a number of them.

Its been a real joy so far.... my shipping ordeal was nearly out of control, much more abuse and I would have stopped payment and walked away from it all and started over, but that is another thread when more time has past, I don't want to sound like a whinner. The quality of this lift is above my expectations so I think all will be great when up and running.

I agree with you about the shipping and the instructions.
I refused initial delivery but in the end they worked with me and I accepted.
They need to invest in a little chinese made osb to make a proper shipping crate. In the long run it would save them a lot of headaches.
I am pretty mechanically savvy and can do just about anything , not bragging just being honest. The instructions are vague in areas and require thorough reading. I had my columns vertical before I realized I missed the part about installing cables and hoses.Really did not make a difference in my eyes, went together after that pretty easy.
I have piped and wired many lifts in my past but never assembled one.
Now that I am an expert (yeah right) , I have to help a neighbor move a nice 7k older forward lift.

Same thing happened to me. The metal frames were bent, shrink wrap tore up, some scratches. I was worried about damage and called Bendpak before accepting. They assured me it was probably alright and would send touch up paint, so went back into the freight depot and said load it up.

I never called back for touch up paint and would agree about the instructions. Two things that should be mentioned in the instructions are: "The cables will appear to be too short" and "You will mess around with the cable ends and wonder if the button ends are anchored properly."

Another question I never asked is what happens if you keep raising until a cylinder hits the top plate. I marked the column where the last lock is but it looks like if I went higher, the cylinder would mash a cable and hydraulic line. Does the cylinder top out before this happens?

My vote is for both. Poor packaging of lift and handled by multiple trucks by Conway.
Careless forklift jockeys who could give two Sh*t's about how they load and unload at terminals.
My driver even said it is more common than not for these to be damaged.
