Can this T12 bulb replace my existing bulb?

Hey Everyone,

My garage was built in '04 and has six T12 fixtures with two bulbs in each. One fixture has both bulbs out and I'm trying to figure out which ones are suitable replacements. I have no idea where they were purchased and obviously after 10 yrs this exact one is discontinued. The current bulbs are Sylvania F96T12/HO/CW/SS 95 Watt with recessed double contact ends. The only 8ft T12 I found at Lowes with those ends are now 110 Watt and say cold temperature. How would I know if these are compatible? The old ones do not say cold on them. Those are High output lamps.
Should work.
If you look at ballast label should have info with various lamp configs.

Thanks, I'll have to pull a car out after work tomorrow and I'll check the ballast. The cold temperature got me confused since the old ones didn't say that so I didn't want to just buy them without checking.

I think the cold temperature means that they will fire up under cold temps. Usually when they are turned on in cold temps they have to warm up before they get bright. On your setup since they are in a house i would assue they are 110. Most new ballast are now multi volt

The 110 watt HO used to be the standard lamp prior to some federal energy legislation, the 95 watt was the "energy saver" lamp, after the legislation the 110 watt HO lamp was marked for cold temperature use & the 95 watt became the standard lamp because of that there will be no issues either way, the only problem is when people mix HO (800 ma) and VHO (1500 ma) lamps but this is not the case w/ the OP's situation.

Those lamps will work if the contacts match what you had. That type of contact is only on HO (cold temp) lamps. If you want 95W, then go to an electrical supply house. Obvisually the 110W lamp will cost you a tad bit more to operate than the 95W.

The recessed double contact is used on HO 800 ma & VHO 1500 ma lamps, VHO used to be common on gas station islands before they were replaced by metal halide.

Better as in how? Quicker warmup? Both are HO lamps rated for cold starts at 20 degrees.

But 110W will operate in a cold environment better then a 95 watt.
