Fiberglass ladder to cut up

What do you think the best tool to do this with, I was thinking a saw zall or a grider but am afraid the grinder would clog up. Thoughts?

I'd go with sawzall.

At an airshow I talked to some USAF para rescue guys and looked at their gear. All of it looked special made except one piece - a Dewalt 18v sawzall. They had spray painted it camo.

A friend did cut up a fiberglass boat with a chainsaw though. It went through the hull like a hot knife through butter.

I cut up a fiberglass truck topper with a Sawzall and it was a vibrating PITA. Bleh!

One would make short work of a ladder though.

Sawsall works well. I have cut up dozens with one. WEAR a mask and coveralls. it will get every where. I think I used dewalt demo blades.

Sawzall. Have a shortened fiberglass ladder in my garage right now i did that way. It got ran over, and i figured it would make a really nice small 4 foot ladder for my garage. It even cut it extremely clean, almost to a finished look even. And i just used a plumbers universal blade as i was working for a plumbing shop at the time and it was handy.

Pneumatic circular saws are used in composites manufacturing. A cheap circular saw and carbide tipped blade work fine on fiberglass composites.

It's a two beer job using a saw-zall and a proper blade. Max.

Helped cut up a salvage title Porsche 944 Turbo using a Milwakee and Dewalt unit and it took half an afternoon. Milwaukee "life/safety" blades cut like buttah. Cutting thru the lammy windshield was fun.

Set the pieces to the curb for the local scrapper we know. Voila' No more Porsche.

Sadly , it was not the first Porsche I have been a party to this way.

All the parts pulled did find good homes. Trust me.
