Snap-On SSDM80A - Screwdriver, Magnetic

I bought this screwdriver at an estate sale. There was no cap. I could not find a replacement cap on Snap-On's site. I really like this driver. Any idea on where I could find one.

BTW, this is the only kind of general screwdriver I use. They're great. Mine is a Craftsman though, solid handle. I used a Chinese one for years, till I noticed the Craftsman in a pawn shop. I don't think his is ratcheting. Useless gimmick.

Dammit, I missed that part. Thought it was the regular ratcheting model. Best of luck to the OP finding that end piece.

get someone to machine a bit of stainless up and have a groove for a O ring to stop the cap falling out

Prior threads here about the newer models have had opinions of 1/2-14 NPT and also 7/8-14 NFT. I don't know either way. Yet.

Seriously, I thought the same until I just took a chance on a cheap Craftsman one, I use it far more than I thought I would, I removed my Klein 11-in-1 from my toolbox after getting it (my previous go-to; most work I do with a screwdriver is electrical.)

Call Snap on they can get you the number. I checked for the end cap for one of mine. I does not show on website but they can look it up. The price will be cheaper than FEEBAY.

I should try keeping up with my own threads. LOL.

Fishing through another small box that came inside the Snap-On tool boxes that were part of this purchase, I found a cap that looked like a fit. Yet was too small a diameter. Maybe (s)he purchased this as a replacement. No Snap-On marking on the cap.

I read your thread and then found that stumbling around Ebay and thought I'd come back here and post it, just in case...

BARE :: Hard to say on the Matco.

- For now, I took the slightly smaller cap I found and wrapped a little teflon tape around the threads. Now I can store bits in the handle.

I'm finding that there are different thread pitch end caps. I just got a $3 SSMDMR4A (screwdriver) from a pawn shop and the cap on my TMR4 (1/4 male drive) doesn't fit it. They just don't interchange

Do you have confirmation on thread size of either?

It's gotta be close to 7/8-14 or M22x1.75.
