I need to mount some speakers on a brick wall however the space between the two speakers is open as in about 20-25 Ft open so in order for me to drill in the brick and put threaded rods in I want to make sure it's going to be level..

first I was thinking a laser level but now I'm thinking just doing the old same height but mark the spacing so it's the same on the wall for both.

But do they make a tool for that use?

Im not sure what you mean, but it kinda sounds like a water level may work, all you need is a long clear vinyl tube

Laser level, Transit level, or even a water level will work just fine.

if they are both in brick, on the same wall, I would skip making them level and use the bricks/mortar seam, as your "level"

since the brick will have a straight line, which may or may not be perfectly level, if you mount speakers perfectly level it may look off in comparison to the bricks.

count up X # of bricks, mount 1st speaker, do exact same for 2nd.

Listen to this advice on a brick/block wall.

If the courses are not laid perfectly straight, and you mount a perfectly straight item it will look out of level to the eye.

As was said, use the mortar joint as your level line.

I thought about counting the bricks but I noticed it's off by a few.. I don't know brick layers call it but every so often a brick is pushed out from the others to make a design or pattern.. anyways I was going to base it off that when I happened to notice it's not the same on each side.

This is at a church so I only ask this because the speakers will be a focal point now since they will be the only hanging things on the wall.

If you want it level, use a self levelling laser...it works very well for stripe painting.

A laser level, a line level (the kind that fit on a string) or, since you mentioned brick, just count brick courses... masons are very good laying up brick, they string more lines than Spiderman to keep things aligned.... of couse that was 'back-in-the-day' they're probably using lasers today too.

If the courses are off, line level, or just measure from the ceiling...

I should of told you the ceiling is about 36' high! So I was going to do the floor up to my desired height.

I was going to pick up a Bosch laser distance meter but I ended up getting yet another cordless tool (M18 cutoff tool) and while I did pick up and look at a few line levels today I was unsure how I would mark it by doing it myself unless you are talking about the type that sits on a tripod?

Nope, String/line level: One way is to do the first screw, hang one end of the string there and then stretch it and do the second...

This is a case of where " If it looks right, it is right" taught to me by an old German engineer. If the brick is not level then you will have to go with what looks right because if you measure out everything to get the speakers earth level and the building is crooked then they will look wrong.

lg
no neat sig line

Well it's a new day (haha) and I figure 35 bricks up is good it's about 7 1/2 ft I wont be able to drill into the mortar due to the way the bracket is so it will be into brick, it's going to take a little while for the redhead adhesive to set anyways.

I finally picked up a Bosch laser distance measure meter, pretty slick :) Now if I had that multi beam line level that was pretty sweet.
