Scored a really nice Toledo hardware scale. Not too bad for $45.....also got a metal sawzall box for free, which will hold the sawzall I bought many years ago for $40....:rocker:

That will come in handy when you need to weigh your new sawzall box. Other than that, it is interesting but what in the garage would you use it for?

Wait a minute. I have to USE it? That's just crazy talk. Can't I just look at it? I think I'll put it next to my wife's grandpa's old cash register...But hey, if you need some screws weighed out, give me a holler.

As if often said of the vises accumulating in many of our shops, especially the insanely large ones, "sometimes, ownership is enough." :D

I recall when I was a kid the A&P had a scale like that. Also an old time hardware store that had one of those huge round free standing nail bins.

Cool find. For that price I'd bought one too

Okay....good point. I do buy on cool factor alone sometimes. I also remember those as a kid when i was at the hardware store.

Holy Toledo!

That is cool. And it is a "you ****."

I'm sure you'll find a reason to use it at some point.

Actually, I bought it for a potential resell. I love to buy things cheap and resell for a profit, however I mostly buy things I love just in case I get stuck with it...

John, You just labeled ALL of Whittier :lol_hitti

Ya, you sucketh. I'm thinking screws, nuts & bolts and such. Hey, dont they weigh babies in them things too?

Funny you mention that. I was talking to a friend this weekend who owns a condo near Rose Hills. They are doing a refi and called the tenant to give a heads up that they were coming by with the appraiser the next day. No response. They showed up to an empty condo....well, except for the kilos of weed in one bedroom. At least 5 large hefty bags full. And he called the cops, instead of calling ME! Damn him! lol....:lol_hitti

Nice score Tucko, people collect those around here and they go for a lot more than you paid for it so you could probably flip it for a nice profit if your patient. They have one just like that at the feed store here and its still in use.

I did a generic "Scale" search on craigslist, and was surprised to see how many scales were for sale. All different types...I'm convinced there's a collector for everything.
