I ended up ordering a super Mortorq bit from Snap On last Sunday I still haven't gotten it yet.
I purchased something else where they give shipping tracking links. It was shipped UPS and got to Atlanta on Tuesday and the post office delivered it on Friday. Three days for a forty mile trip. Apparently UPS takes it to an Atlanta shipment center and the Post Office delivers it. DHL used to do this but UPS never did it before.
Are they doing this for tool shipments.

All Snap-on items I order off there website comes to me via UPS, but I don't order straight from the site; I print out the check-out page and send it to the Kenosha office along with a USPS money order. If I inquire about the order, they'll ask me for the tracking number; I haven't figured out how to get a tracking number onto a business size envelope yet though.

The dealer will pretty much charge the same..... SO dealers don't make a habit out of discounting off the list price although sometimes they will throw you a break.

Edit: I guess I should say thats been my experience with them even when I did have credit accounts open.

My dealer is a twerp; he never stops at the shop, even when we asked him to! So, I find using Snapon.com, a much easier and enjoyable experience! :)

Snap-on from the web page is not free to Hawaii. It's UPS second day air. so, I have to be frugal on my purchases. :headscrat

Are they doing this for tool shipments.

When I have heard of this, it was in area's like one of my grandfathers lived in. Even though the mail box was in front of his house, it was a rural route, and listed as a PO box. UPS would send those to the post office.

Merk, as for the USPS money order, you can request delivery confirmation.

I ordered some assorted ratchet replacement parts on 2/4 (@ 5PM in the evening, so essentially the 5th) and they are coming UPS; scheduled to be delivered 02/13/2009. All the packages originated from PALATINE,IL; which is near Chicago, IL.
I did get a email saying that one item I ordered (a dust cover for a 700 series 3/8" ratchet); only came in a rebuild kit, so, that may have slowed the shipping process down.... I don't know for sure. So, all told we are talking 9 days from order to delivery, with the free UPS ground shipping.

I think it is just UPS. The last year or so they have slowed down a LOT.
From Snap-On they took 7 working days my last shipment.

It's normal here where I live for UPS to take 3-5 days to ship 100 miles.
Something changed in their system somewhere a few years ago and they are getting slower and slower.

kinda related. Anyone know why I always have to pay sales tax when it's coming out of state? Same for matco so I'm not challenging it's legitimacy but I'm curious

Eh.. I have found that the dealer can beat the internet price, especially when you pay ALL up front and with cash. I usually tell them: Hey there - I want to buy this up front, you can pick between Cash, Cashier's check, personal check or check card. What kind of price can you give me?

If no one else is on the truck with me, I can usually get something out of them.

I think that S.O. charges what they do because most of the buyers finance stuff over time. That's it, that's all. Wave a fistfull of $100s under their nose and you will be surprised at what you can get out of them.

Perhaps, but I am a student. I don't think a dealer's gonna beat 50% off. Last time I ordered iirc it came from Indiana.

If a company you order from operates business in the state you are located in (no matter where in the state), you are required to pay sales tax. It does not matter that the parts could come from all across the country.
