Do you not already have a gauge near the pressure switch?

Will follow.
Lowes or Home Depot has one in the irrigation/sprinkler area. Not sure quality. I need one and looked at it but not sure of quality so I didn't pull the trigger.

I grabbed one of these before inspecting our new house.

Worked fine, from what I could determine. Pressure was same as tank gauge showed, and dropped with taps opened.

One of those things that don't need to be over thought.

The pressure gauge on my tank is too low to the floor and at an odd angle, making it hard to read. So I picked up a cheap gauge at the local hardware store and put it on a drain valve over the tank. It's made by Watts in china, has a hose connection on it, and it get's the job done. Plus, it's easily moved around to other hose connections/drains, or can be taken up to camp to check that line as well.

You only need a tee fitting to plumb in an ordinary dial pressure gauge. Walk the plumbing aisle at any big box home store. They are readily available. No reason not to keep it a permanent.

I am on a well, a ga in a pit is almost useless. I monitor mine and adjust/size the usage and its way to easy not to realize you got a problem,,, out of sight out of mind as long as water keeps coming thru the hose. 3 hp sub real deep.

It could use some work but its nice except for power outage. We can conserve and I try to manage some but its a genset hog when it has to run.

Bumping an old post.....

Stupid question time.... jakemac posted a pic of a water pressure tester with two different "needle." Google images shows thats pretty common. Whats the point to have two "needle" vs. one?? I figure there HAS to be a reason.....

High Value is “stored”........low or current reading is active.

The RED indicator is pushed along by the black needle and it records the highest pressure encountered. The brass knob on the center of the face will move the red needle back to the black needle for a 'reset'. There are also some with two red indicators that will show the high and low pressures since the last reset. In looking for a better picture I find that most recording gauges are now electronic.
