Got the new tool chests filled up on Friday. So far pretty impressed with it. Took just about everything. My jack almost fits in the bottom drawer, except the jack is a couple inches too tall to fit.

How did you mount the vacuum off the ground?

It's just a hook that loops through the handle on the top of the vacuum. The hook is mounted on the truss.

I don't use the vacuum when it's mounted there tho. I take it down to use it, but in the mean time, it's up and out of the way.

I started rebuilding my workbench

Here's where the table saw is now:

Here's an overall picture of the bench. The junk on top is only there until I can put it back in the van or up on a shelf.

Next step is to put a face on the front of the table saw so it's not fully visible and fasten the workbench top to the frame, and finish the blue box/garbage/jack shelves. Then modify the upper cabinet so that the top of the upper chest can fully open

Yesterday morning I hung up the table saw stand out of the way:

And, I got the blue box shelf built, and got rid of some more stuff off the bench top:

Got some painting done last night, finally.

Touched up the paint where it was missing in the front of the garage from other old shelf arrangement supports:





Painted the surround of the closet:



Painted the work bench and the upper cabinets:





Overall look:



Probably needs another coat, but I much prefer it over the old wood look. It's crazy how a little bit of paint changes the look.

Forgot about this thread...

Like dubber I took advantage of the warm weather this weekend.

Friday I spent swapping my winter tires out for my summer tires, fixing my headlights again (TIPM failing)



& started to clean the garage up from the winter mess (need to clean my car still!)



Saturday I spent installing the Mopar fog light kit, a front camera and I started my headlight retrofit install on the van.



Sunday I finished making the turn signal & parking light wiring harness (final pictures to come)

I need to do my spring time detail on both of them (clay, polish, seal) still though

Last night when it was raining out, I was so happy that the van fits in the garage now with the door shut, would have sucked otherwise because of the wind, rain and colder temperatures again.

Ok, well things are happening again here.

Ended up with a bunch of Home Depot gift cards, plus a slow day at work so I was online shopping, plus I keep buying tools = I bought a new toy box

Of course, this required me to completely reconfigure my workbench, and remove the closet.

Of course, as the saying goes "no pain, no gain", so I started tearing everything apart and made a big mess:



Was cutting up/flattening a bunch of cardboard tonight, and realized how perfectly my garage door opener is positioned. I had the Caliber's tailgate open loading up a bunch of garbage and cardboard/recycling and still had a tiny bit of space:

How it sits as of right now:





I'm going to paint the new cabinets to match, and figure out how to make the old cabinet doors match (plain fronts)

The closet came out to make room for the bigger toy box, but I've now got a full width workbench which I absolutely love.

The lawn mower, table saw, and my jack are all under the workbench on heavy duty drawers that slide out fully, and make all three things much easier to use!

The middle overhead cabinet is filled with all of car cleaning towels, and my polisher pads, all locked away and out of the dust in rubbermaid totes.

And yes, the table and bed frame along the wall are not staying!

Once again, I'm very thankful to have my garage to work in, especially now that it's getting cold out.

Long story short, this is how you change the battery in a Dodge Caliber...after the little piece of sheet metal that the battery clip bolt screws into sheared off, and ripped out of the plastic battery tray.

...and new battery installed, finally:

Also, more on topic, I ordered some slatwall a couple weeks ago, and finally installed about half of it yesterday:



At first I wasn't crazy about the white colour, but after installing it, and seeing how well it matches my white board, I'm very happy with it.

I'm not sure what I'll do with the rest of the pieces I didn't use just yet. They may go into the shed to help with organization in there.
