Hey all,
Ive got an early Cat 933 (basically a D2 with a loader) that had been sitting awhile outside in Idaho. Doesnt rain all that much in Idaho but the main clutch compartment was full of latte colored fluid. Not a good thing.
When I checked the left steering clutch (which is stuck as is normal for any tracked Cat that sits outside.) it was full of what looked like 30W motor oil, but the guy I bought it from may have put it in their in an attempt to break the rusty clutch steels free.
My question is; what kind of fluid are the clutch cases filled with and how much goes in each? I know that you have to check the motor oil in a D2 when the engine is running at idle but I dont know if there are any other unique things when it comes to Cats.
(Since buying the Cat I've had to buy a whole bunch of new tools that are too heavy duty simply for cars, oh dang. Dont tell the wife....haha.)
Any help will be appreciated.
