Whatever happened to Steve A.K.A. GearWrench Brand? I sent him a PM on February 11 (which has gone unanswered) and his last post was on January 30, 2009.

I've kind of backed off on endorsing his tools and so I'm hoping he's not majorly PO'ed at me. :D

Maybe Danaher decided to pull the plug on forum participation for some reason, I sure hope thats not the case I like seeing the manufacturer reps here.

it's not danaher......smcdonn has posted recently. perhaps they have been busy visiting the facilities in taiwan :spit:
I think Steve and the other gearwrench guys were here in a "official capacity", I gather from reading smcdonn's posts that he is not. Or they could be busy with quality control.:bounce:

Well....I officially sent my magnetic extensions back to Steve in hopes of getting the NON-magnetic extensions sent back in return; cost me $11.45 in shipping; so it's not like I'm getting them completely free. :D

Well, it's good to know that you're genuinely concerned with why he hasn't posted lately.

For only a little more than the $11.45 you spent in postage, you could have just bought your own extensions, or simply removed the magnetic stem with a cuttoff wheel.:bounce:

I'm a tool *****. I miss his updates on new products. I do feel that Gearwrench's quality has slipped since moving production from Taiwan to the PRC, and I have slowed down getting regular Gearwrench tools because of it but, that's just me. I would like manufacturing reps to post information on the board. I don't want free samples, warranty service, or things to test, just information and insights.

It's only been 2 weeks and 2 days. Lot's of people take two week vacations. Many people also attend global trade shows which are pretty draining. Either of those two choices are likely; one is just a lot more fun than the other...

You could always buy the Hazet 606 series if you want reversing gearwrenches

You can always check someone's profile to see when they were last active on the forum.

GW Brand profile says someone was on at 8:05pm last night.

Merkava, for some reason, your profile does not show this info - everyone's profile shows details of their "last activity" but yours... was that intentional, or is it a glitch?

Merkava never really leaves the board. His presence is always felt hence the missing activity status.:beer:

They are probably thinking that they can learn a lot from just lurking, listening to what we say about their products.

Also if they are not making their presence known, then everybody is not bothering them for free samples and such.

I wouldn't be surprised if more tool companies than we realize are following the events on this board and not making their presence known to us.
