That figures, after I bought mine last year. I would imagine the USA made will be priced higher.

Just get the 100$ one from Autozone, OEM brand. Its lifetime warrantied and if you break it every autozone has one.

Ive used one for years with my impact guns never broke one yet.

OK. Well now I own a second ball joint press. The OTC kit is in fact made in the US of A! 103.99 plus 14 shipping from www.usatoolwarehouse.com . got it in two days and it came with a "free" ball joint separator. I'm looking forward to using it.

I had one of the Harbor Freight units, but after about four cars, the C frame had spread. I saw a BJP1 in a local pawn shop with a faded price sticker and haggled them down. Walked out with the Snap-On one for $200 and it is a very well made kit. I have a feeling I'll wear out before that sucker will.

Maybe HF has a better source for them now. The OTC ones do have a pretty attractive price for being made here and Astro seems like an honest importer. There are plenty of options for the savvy shopper. I wouldn't have paid list price for this Snap-On kit. I'm sure I would be looking at OTC and Astro very closely if I was buying today.

Might as well wipe your rear end with a OTC warranty. Have dozens of their tools, you call for a force screw or anything on a puller and it is never warrantied. Isn't the main part of any puller/press the force screw?

When it comes to these tools we either buy HF due to price or Snap-On due to the a true lifetime warranty. That being said both of my shops have been using HF ball joint presses for years with no issues.
