I'm looking for a decent snap-ring pliers... I deal with small- medium sizes of snap-rings generally and need a long reach (4-6"), fairly narrow set.. Preferably with interchangeable ends.. Anybody have a fave set that they really like and could recommend? I'm sick of parts store cheap junk...

Until you get away from interchangeable tips most will feel like junk.

I like Knipex Precision. Snap-ons forged ones are very nice as well and cheaper.

There was a thread about them yesterday.

For what its worth... I have the crastman pro. I haven't had a chance to use them yet, but the pliers do seem to be very solid and well built. I don't see them twisting like the cheaper pliers do. From what I read they are the same as channel locks and some of the truck brands.

I have a couple cheap pairs of snap ring pliers and recently picked up that Craftsman pair above. The are very nice and should fit my needs well, but most snap rings I mess with are usually easy to get to and the item is clamped in my vise.

I've had used the craftsman ones. They were the best I've tried but to " thick" and not quite long enough usually.. Thanks for the suggestions! I read thru the thread mentioned. I'll check some of those out..the knipex look nice..

I have the interchangeable end Craftsman ones and some NWS & Knipex. It is much nicer using the right tool for the job rather than trying to get the interchangeable ones to work, I find them too pointy and not quite articulated enough, if I said that ok :)
