I have been on this site getting ideas for a while now and I have finally decided to share my garage. It is a work in progress and very unorganized, but it is getting better and better. When we decided to build a house in this neighborhood the covenants stated that outbuildings were not allowed so I told my wife that I had to have a big garage. She agreed and I now have a standard 22X24 two car garage with another 16X40 for the third car garage. The door on the third car garage is 12ft and a foot taller than standard. The total sq ft is 1136.

Here are a few more pics of my garage. I have plans to add at least 10-12 dual 8ft flouresent lights. This coming fall I will put insulation in the attic and add a sink with a spigot so that I can wash my vehicles inside during the winter. A couple of months ago I finally got my garage heater installed.

Here are some pics of the Heater. It is a 45000 btu Heatstar that I picked up from a friend of mine. He got it as a gift and never used it and I bought it for $225. A hundred dollars later and I have heat!!! I love being able to go out in the garage and do something in the middle of winter.

Northern Tool has a 45000 Mr. Heater for around $300. I just picked up a 75000 btu for a tad over $400 and am installing it this weekend. Nice clean job on your Heatstar - I'm inspired to go back out to my 35 degree garage to finish the install!

Does the heater work pretty well for 1136 s.f.? It seems like 45kbtu is enough, but I don't know the math.

Nice garage 400.

I agree. I can't believe I waited so long before having heat in the garage ... in Wisconsin you can only work in the garage for 3 months out of the year without heat :lol_hitti

It does the job pretty decent. I was out there when we had the extreme cold (10 below for the high) and it ran almost non stop to begin with, but once everything in the garage started warming up it would shut off for about 5 minutes before kicking back on. I had it set on 50 degrees. Once I get insulation in the attic it should be a lot better. I would have gotten a 60000 btu unit if I was buying new, but I got such a good deal on this one I couldnt pass it up. All in all it does the job.

Thanks. I love it. I just looked up where Fredonia is cause I have never heard of it. I was just in Milwaukee yesterday buying a truck.
