Hey fellas, new to the sight ,like to say hello and first question I have for everyone is what scissor lift is anyone using. tried to do a full 2 post but my ceiling is kind of low and I really don`t want to loose a spot. current my 40X30 can hold 5 cars so I`m thinking about a portable scissor. Been doing research on all of them out there without spending 6k on a Mohawk, leaning towards the bendpak, revolution or challenger. looking to lift no more than 6k lbs and budget about 2k $. Any and all input is welcome, thanks, joe

I bought a great scissor lift from challenger and it's great. The only downside is I have to drive shorter cars up ramps to fit on top of the lift

Just got my bendpak md-6xp two weeks ago. Love it so far! Check out my post for pics.

I got mine on amazon from norther tools. Used some credit card points and save $200 as well.

I use a mohawk usl-6000 full rise. It gets the job done but has a large footprint. Very stable well built lift.

If you look hard enough you can find a used mohawk for 2k. They can be difficult to source but check out government auctions. They seem to be the only ones who can afford these lifts new. Nothing is too good for taxpayers.

Yupp me too....It's actually made by wheeltronics...

Me three. I have the model with the full table, which is perfect for bikes and cars.

I have a 7 foot ceiling in my garage, so it is a lifesaver. Downsides are lack of access to the center of the undercarriage. Not too helpful for my 914...

I see the used Snap On/Wheeltronics lifts between 1 and 2k all the time. Use a Craigslist aggregator like searchtempest to get outside your locality. 'mid rise' seems to be the most successful search term.

Yupp, mines the full table also...It makes a great pop up work surface, to boot...

(That's why I also have an old autolifters right next to it.)

I picked up mine for $700, and the guy threw in a Bend Pak low rise for another $100...(I later sold the BP for $600, to a shop equipment dealer.)

Yeah...mine was either 600 or 800...can't recall. I didn't get a second lift for $100 though! Now that I want a second lift, they all seem to be 2k if close or 1k 400 miles away.

I need more patience!

I bought an Atlas from Greg Smith Equipment Sales in 2008. It served me well, but I needed ramps for my Corvette. I bought it for $1340 new from them and I have never had one moment of trouble. I now have a 30x40 building with 12' walls, but I still use it a lot more than my 2 post. It's so much more convenient for small quick jobs. Here are some pics from when I installed it and built the ramps:

This is what I would like to do so I could do away with the ramps:

One day I'm gonna do the in floor lift also....I'm gonna drop it about an extra 1/4", so I can cover it with a nice piece of diamond plate, whick will double as a tabletop....

I have had a Direct Lift Pro 6MR. Have had if for a few years. Looks exactly like the Atlas from Greg Smith. It is very useful, I use it as a portable raising work bench more that anything else. I service all the toys from tractor to atv to riding lawnmower on it. I built a wood cover for it and its great. Only problem with setting it into the floor is its not portable any more. The word portable makes it sound easy to move. It is anything but. The thing weighs a ton and it requires a certain amount of grunt work to move it. That said when you get a vehicle on it you are glad it is beefy enough to carry the weight. I have a four poster with a jack lift in the center, good for oil changes etc. I am still glad to have the scissor lift also.
