I'm looking into a service cart however don't want to pay for a Snap-On, Cornwell, or Matco price.
I want to expand my options before going down major brand route.

I'm looking for certain features but kept coming back to major brand.
- Screwdriver/Pry bar slots
- Side Shelf/Work Bench
- Hood Shocks

The only one I found is Sunex Tools but doesn't come with side shelf, no add-on available.

Harbor freight has some decent options for cheap. I have two Matco's one has three rows of drawers and a top section and one has drawers all the way down. The smaller one was 500 used off the truck so I'm sure if you look around used on Clist...

HF 5 drawer. My co worker has one, and it's just about identical to my Blue Point. All my accessories work for it too, he just got a side table off the SO truck and put it on no problems.. They also have the screwdriver/prybar slots you want..

HF will be my last resort. My coworker have 1 for a little 4 months, the drawers sliders started to fail. Apparently, he upgraded the sliders. Dont know with what.

Buy the sunex and then buy a harbor freight side shelf?

Or just buy a Harbor Freight 5 drawer cart with Harbor Freight shelf.

I've had one at work for years. Couple of other guys at my dealership have, too. No problems with slides. :dunno:

Then he is the exception because many many people on here use them professionally without a hitch. Don't axe kick the drawers while they are open and it will work just fine for you, but if you are too stubborn to take everyone's advice then I recommend Snap-On.

I've had several hf carts over the years. Unlike a new SO, Matco, Mac, Cornwell(none over here), there paid off. Modded the hell out of them. And made them better.

If you have the hf stigma, go with what cline said. Check the used route. Clist, armslist, used ebay localy, pawnshops. Can find great deals. Check into napa's website to, may find something you like.

I agree.

I've personally seen the HF 5 dwr carts used on a mfg. floor by assembly employees (where boxes adn carts see a lot more use then auto service bay work) for 10 hour shifts 6 days a week for a decade + and no dwr slide problems. Hell, I have one that fits that criteria.

Sure, the lid shocks wear out over time, but that's a given.

If me I;d buy a HF 5 dwr cart, a flip down side shelf and a SO, Mac or Hamak screwdriver/prybar hanging lock box for the side and be done if budget is a concern.

Otr save for a nice full length dwr snap on cart witht he stp down prybar holders but pay big $$$$$.

For me, it's whether I want a cart with full length dwrs top to bottpm or an open bottom, and do I want a lift lid top or slide open top.

Bigger ur budget, the more cool features you get. It's really that simple.

I work with two guys that have had the HF cart for years. They're still earning their keep.

I got a used Mac cart that has everything you require except hood shocks (but the leaves stay open when opened) for a very good price.

Note that the 4 drawer cart (on sale for $100, under 90lbs) is considerably lighter than the 5 drawer cart ($150-$160 on sale, 150lbs).

The four drawer cart is good for casual use, but it's not the one people are recommending for daily use.
