Rant: Snap On South Africa

I sent a mail to Snap On SA enquiring about the potential purchase of one of thier items. Got a mail back from them asking me about my location, which i promptly supplied. Then.......nothing. Sent another mail, three weeks back. Still,.... Nothing!
Do'nt they want my money? Bunch of retards!! No wonder Snap On is not so popular here! **** service and even crappier prices!

Hazet had a huge presence in RSA, still find gems at pawn shops now. These days more Stahlwille comes in new.

With regards to Snap On; I rarely buy from them locally. Most items can be had cheaper from ebay even with shipping, customs, etc.

You are correct. Alot of old Hazet still in the Pawn shops. I see HP Will now also list Hazet on their local website, and Tool Centre in PTA have mentioned to me that they can supply Hazet.

I don't know how much Gedore is still made in SA. I bought a 12/13 open end recently to replace the unit lost from my old SA made set (± 23 years old) and it looks slightly different and certainly does not look to be of the same quality. I can't tell where it is made though.

Also, I often see Gedore tools with "made in Germany" in the shops. This of course we don't mind....
