Really? We hadn't noticed.
You ****.
Nice of you to think of your buddy.

This one happened to have some tools in it:

Everything else will be sold to help offset the $65 price I paid.

I think you did great on those wrenches cause you can't touch them new at that price. That's a harder to find breaker bar that somebody screwed with. Good stuff jakemac, I have a soft spot for Williams.

$65 worth of YOU ****let me know if you want to trade off those 4 clamps, top center of table. Any brand name on the box, it has really cool Gerstner style pulls.

oh, man. B&S and starrett....yeah, you know(you ****)
but the drawer pulls on that chest aint gerstner.
i'm stickin' w/ UNION. could be anytime from the teens to 20s to the 40s.
maybe the 50s. they changed from drawer pulls to drawer "handles" in the 50s or 60s.
I aint no expert, so if i'm wrong i'll refund yer $ for my opinion........how much is that? i'll give ya a hint....It rhymes w/ hero![]()

Livewire, What pray tell is it? It appears to be a type of spot elder. ?????

Not a spot welder. It is a Victor motorized cutting torch.
The hoses hook to it like normal, but it has a cord for the 110 motor on it that drives the wheel. It works, but the wheel turns slow.
Guess you could call it a lazy man's torch. Lol.

Got these along with a few other items the other day. Not much markings on them.
From the bottom up 18"-dropped forged steel.
14"-MFD 1814 U.S.A. P&C
14"-Made in Spain Quaranteed
10"-No markings on this one.
6"- Stillson Wallworth MFG CO. Boston,USA.
Can anyone tell me how old they are or any other info on them?
Do I leave them as-is or clean them up? Thanks for any help. Brad

It is a Craftsman from the late '40's, but not an Atlas! It was a cheaper version much lighter built, but with V-type ways. Plain bearing for the spindle, and Morse #0 for the tailstock taper. It was built by a different vendor.
Still a nice score. Well into the "YOU ****" range!
dammit! are you serious? 65 bucks?
you **** with a capital S!
I barley looked at those tools. but that machinists chest looks to be a pre 50s UNION
of course I could be wrong(I have been before)
still... you ****...that just means i'm jealous![]()

I'm going to be going to Boston in a couple weeks anybody know of a good flea market there?![]()
I'm not familiar with anything in the city itself (doesn't mean there isn't one, just that I'm not aware of one). Outside the city there is an indoor/outdoor flea Sat/Sun in Lynn with a mix of vendors, some of which have tools (mostly junk, but a few gems can be found). Lynnway Tools is a used tool store that carries truck brand handtools, but is closed on sunday so he can sell chaff at the Lynn Flea. Revere (nearby) has a small flea on sunday just off of Rt1 behind the movie theater, but it's mostly new Chinese knockoffs and yard sale items (don't bother).
For antiques you can go 30/40 min north of Boston up Rt1 to Todd's Farm (on Rt-1A), Open on Sunday only, with up to 300 tables of antiques, mantiques, and general merch (no import knockoffs allowed). It can be hit or miss on tools depending on what you're looking for. I've seen Craftsman, Plvmb, Proto, Indestro, Snap-On, Mac, Utica, and others. As well as lots of trash brands, but it's spotty depending on which vendors show up. It's worth the trip just for the walk-around, but get there early, vendors start packing up by 11am.
If you want to travel into SoNH. There is an indoor/outdoor flea in Salem, NH on Sat/Sun, but I don't care for it much. It's mostly newer import ****. Up in Londonderry, NH there is a larger flea, but good tools can be scarce the few times I've gone. Both charge an admission fee.
For used tool stores in the eastern Mass area check out this thread :
