This is not a hot deal but pertains to it.

Do you guys check to make sure they apply your points for purchases? I admit on small purchase I don't.

I bought a 499.00 tablet that gave me 140,000 points for 140.00 Sears never gave me the points. I have called twice and they gave me a run around about not seeing a credit card purchase attached to the order so that is why it didn't work. Complete bs, receipt she read on her screen showed it.

I then asked for other small orders I placed last month and found some of them not awarded points either.

Check your points.

Sears and SYWR **** so bad they even have an automated voice prompt when you call to enter receipts for points that were missed by their system.

In my experience any big purchase like that they find a way to screw you. I spent $1500 on exercise equipment that also had bonus points last year and after not getting the points I called multiple times and they had excuse after excuse about this doesn't qualify or this only gets you partial points. It's a big joke I ended up with $11 in points.

I usually get the correct amount of points.

For the websites:
On the final payment page, click on the Review Order button before placing the order. The amount shown under "Earn for Next order" is what you will earn. If it looks incorrect, I don't place the order.

For the stores:
A little more difficult, because you can't see the amount you will earn before you checkout. I always select to have my receipt printed out, and that let's me check what I earned for the purchase. If it looks incorrect, I demand to have it fixed before I leave the store. The service counter for full-line stores should be able to pull up your account and manually add points. If not, then you're already in the right place to return it.

I've had a lot of trouble with Sears and sywr lately. I am all but done dealing with them as of right now, the time spent online or on the phone trying to straighten things out with them makes it not worth the money saved in most cases.

Its obvious, they need that money to barter to the utility companies to stay open.

If you pay 100% with points you cannot earn new points. Even $.01 paid by you is sufficient

I have had a lot of success calling the SYWR hotline and getting them to add the points. I've had one lady (two separate occasions) who did not make it very easy. With a little coaxing/persistence, it is pretty easy to get the points. Most times I'm off the phone within 5 minutes.

Their point system does seem a bit funky. My points never all seem to show up at the same time.
