One of our readers over at TIA shared a couple of pretty awesome Milwaukee items from across the pond which none of the American blogs have reported yet.

The first and most intriguing, is an M12 4 in 1 Drill/Driver. It's a detachable head driver system similar to the Festool CXS.

The other item is an M18 Sliding Compound Miter Saw. I've been expecting one of these for awhile, but it popped up in Europe first.

Milwaukee's New Product Symposium is the 2nd week of August, and I'd bet at least 1 of these is debuted for North American release. Milwaukee has been on a roll the last couple of years, and it looks like that's gonna continue.

Looks neat. The 4-in-1 tool looks interesting. I personally like it, but some may call it gimmicky.

The compound saw looks very handy for small cuts though. Ryobi has one, but it does not slide so you're limited on your cuts. When Milwaukee comes out with one, I'll buy it!

Is it worth it though? I can't see a brushless motor benefiting something like a ratchet that doesn't run continuously. I use my ratchet day in and out and it'll last for days on a single charge.

I've been continually impressed with the M12 line. Every time I hear of an M12 release like a jig saw or band saw, I shake my head and think it will have to ****. But each time I've been wrong.

That would certainly be a good one to have a brushless version of if for no other reason than heat reduction.

And battery life!

I'm in a constant rotation of my 3 M12 2.0Ah batteries when I'm using this tool hard. Each battery only lasts 10 minutes or so. I don't like putting the 4.0 Ah on because it reduces maneuverability especially when flush cutting.

Gimmick was my first thought. Disappointed Milwaukee would consider this. These one-tool-does-all things are generally homeowner grade, meant to be used for 2 weekends and then forgotten.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a gimmick. It's modeled after the very popular Festool CXS

It's probably more popular in Europe than it will ever be here, but a lower cost option by Milwaukee could change that.

Festool is far from homeowner grade

This^, I don't care what brand it is, 4-in-1 tools are homeowner grade.

I don't think a fuel ratchet is going to happen soon. Likely it will become too bulky and a cordless ratchet probably won't benefit from even double the torque until they reduce the added size & weight it would accompany.

The 4 in 1 looks interesting. Might not be top of everybody's list but I like the idea that Milwaukee is making Festool innovation more affordable and commonly available. Realistically, the right angle drill has been available since day 1 of the M12, and they have even been giving it away free recently too. Not quite as elegant and doesn't get all the offset has to offer, but it can come close and you can get it now anyway.

Not that I'd jump on the CXS even if I were into Festool anyway, but the only store that sold it near me is closed now. You're basically comparing the most broad cordless to the least in these two, and now Milwaukee is making one less tool that is exclusive to others more available, even if we do have to wait a while more for it.

I could see the driver being popular with cabinet guys or someone that works in tight areas. The offset driver is something that isn't currently available as a stand alone tool and likely won't ever be because it's limited use would never justify it's price.

No, it's not a Fuel version. I'm sure it will be eventually though.

Oh I bet all Milwaukee tools (cordless) will eventually have a normal (aka brushed) & fuel (aka brushless) version.....its nice that there is actually a noticeable difference when the different versions are released & the fact that they all use the same batteries! :)
