Bahco 1/4 drive ratchet

have you taken it apart to see what the issue is? maybe a little thin oil.

I wouldn't expect snap on to warranty it even if internally it's a T72 ratchet.

bought it from a tool seller online, forget the name....brand new.

funny, I contacted them and they said mine was covered and to just send it in. I never did because it was such a POS ratchet in the first place that I did not want another POS after paying for shipping.

I do agree that this ratchet is terrible. The 3/8" and 1/2" Bahco ratchets are magnificent though.

i am not a snap-on fanboy. i don't even really care for the dual 80/72 models.

that said, you buy the bahco from ebay to save a few bucks then expect snap-on to warranty it? go figure. your problem should be addressed by the seller and if that does not work then bahco. of course the seller will tell you to go to bahco and since bahco has little or no u.s. presence you are probably out of luck.

**** it up, quit trying to get a free repair kit and "buy" a snap-on kit to fix your problem.

Theres probably something wrong with the mechanism. Always had good luck with my t72 snap-on's

Agree with the comments to just buy a service kit. I found a nice little T72 on the side of the road during a bike ride a couple of years ago. The selector was scarred from the road and I felt it wasn't Snap-on's job to warranty it. Ten bucks and it's perfect again.

The BAHCO ratchets are made in Spain. The little white box it comes in says so.

Just because a brand is part of the Snap on empire, doesn't mean you get a Snap on product from different brands under the Snap on umbrella.

I've always thought the dual 80 design worked best in 3/8 and 1/2 drive tools. I've always thought the T72 series in 1/4 drive to bind and not be as smooth as the other drive sizes.

Bummer. I have their pivoting pistol ratcheting screwdriver and I like it better than the Snap On ratcheting drivers. Excellent quality. Not sure how long the pivoting function will work on it, I'm a bit skeptical, but it's awesome for now. Never used a Bahco ratchet, hope your experience isn't typical.

Bahco tools are warrantied through Snap-on Idustrial Brands, not the regular Snap-on brand. Basically, they're handled through the process where you warranty Williams tools.

This Bahco ratchet is sold by Snap-on Industrial Brands and is in the current catalog, so it's not some grey-market item not normally sold in the U.S.

However, if it's relatively new, this is more of an issue for the seller to resolve.

It sounds like you got a defective one. I have one and it's really nice, every bit as good as the Snap-On T72.

Bahco has been **** for a number of years now, all those newer socket sets and combination wrenches are complete garbage compared to the old swedish made stuff.Over here in Finland those newer socket sets are sold everywhere cheap but you can find the older stuff in some tool stores it costs more than stahlwille and the socket sets come in red metal boxes.

But to op. Think you had bad luck. Those ratchets are just as good, and smooth as the old cmans, and on par with most(but better imo) ratchets out on the market today.

I had a 1/4" Bahco skip. Upon inspection, the ball used for the selection mechanism was dislodged. I reassembled it correctly, and it's been great since.

Can't tell from the pic.Elsewhere they sell a new version socket set with a different type handle spinner that has the same part number as this older one.I suspect the older bahco/belzer one is way better quality.
