I decided to start this thread so everyone could post up tools that are a great value and performance. There are a lot of brands and items many are not aware of that exist that have a great bang for the buck, while being of great quality. This is a good place for newer members to check on these items that they may not know of. This is not really a truck brand equivalent(which is a great thread), but may include some of those items due to them being a great value.

Please post the item and COO of said item, and current regular market price range for said item. A pic would also be helpful.

Links to tools at posted prices would be good as well so people know where to buy from.

I'll start the first post, Bahco Dual 80 ratchets, items #'s as follows:

6950 1/4" drive 72t $30

7750 3/8" drive 80t $35

8150 1/2" drive 80t $40

COO is Spain

I purchased my set through ISC on eBay: http://stores.ebay.com/Industrial-S...nkw=bahco+ratchet&submit=Search&_sid=39872981

Those are awesome except the little 1/4" drive. I really don't like that one as it isn't smooth and likes to bind.

My contribution is the Harbor Freight locking extensions from Taiwan. awesome little guys at a great price.

My HF blast cabinet. For under $200 you get a great cabinet. It is big enough to get big stuff in or put a small stool in there to use as a bench. It has the light and a large hopper. I use it a lot. The gloves are still good, never a leak, and they give you a bunch of extra window film. I put mine on piano castors so she rolls. You do need dry air for most media and sticking a shop vac on it is advised for better vison. Compared to a $1000 for a name brand comparable I think it ranks up there as a good deal.

Harbor Freight caliper service tool kit

http://www.harborfreight.com/disc-brake-pad-and-caliper-service-tool-kit-pc-69053.html

with that and a Lang/Kastar 279 caliper spreader you can do almost any brake job (with, of course, the usual sockets and wrenches as well)

For $40 the HF tool set is a screamin' deal.

I'll second the HF caliper set. Top notch IMO.

If as you start to tighten the piston in it stops moving, just back it off a bit and give it a second for the pressure to dissipate from the lines. Then proceed as normal. I was surprised at how well it worked. This kit also works on normal press in pistons that don't need to be screwed in.

I don't have the Lang/Kastar yet. Hopefully I'll get it soon.

Harbor Freight US General Pro 5 Drawer Service cart for sure, incredibly well made, like incredibly well made.

After I got mine all the other maintenance men in the plant are jealous and a couple went out and got their own.

Country of origin is China but at the price for the quality that it is you really cannot complain at all. It occasionally is less than 170 bucks.

It is on sale right now for $39.99. So, if you use a 25% off coupon on your phone, it is $30. I have this set, as well. It is definitely one of the gems of harbor freight.

I would also add, from harbor freight, the 1/2" impact sockets, the 72t composite ratchets, the 1/2" breaker bars, the electronic calipers, and the dead blow hammers.

Bahco/Williams ratcheting screwdrivers: ~$30 on Amazon.
Williams stubby wrenches: ~$30. They're some of the best feeling stubbys I've ever used.
Wera Kratform Klassic screwdriver set: ~$20 on Amazon.
Williams sockets
SK T-handle hex set (made by Facom I believe): $30 on Epsteins
Armstrong 88 tooth Aerospace ratchet: $37 on Epsteins

There's so many more. When I speak of Williams tools I mean made in USA or Taiwan. Both are professional quality.

In general, I'd say Craftsman tools when they were US made but that horse has been beat to death.

I'd say HF impact sockets.

Channellock Pliers as a whole. Wilde Tools pry bars and pliers. Great quality and USA made as a bonus. And craftsman adjustable wrenches. I will even add craftsman pliers to this. Channellock Pliers are rebadged as Cornwell and MAC and sold at a much higher price. Quality is good enough for a tool truck they must be good.

I will add Craftsman Pro screwdrivers because you can still get them. My Sears hardware stores near me are still pretty stocked. Compare them to the IDENTICAL SK or Armstrong. Almost half the price. Get them while you still can
