looking good, I need to know your craiglist secret. Are you planing on insulation you will need it come summer time

Thanks JCQuick. I'm going to start unloading everything from the house garage into the shop tomorrow.

The key to craigslist for me is having cash in hand ready to go when a deal pops up. That's how I got the steel building so cheap!

I will have the interior spray foam insulated sometime early next year after my wife gets her year end bonus.

Today was very productive!

My buddy came over this morning to spend the day helping me move a bunch of stuff out of the house garage and into the new shop. We managed to get most of the tools, motorcycle spare parts and related stuff moved in and somewhat arranged. Tomorrow I'll get the bikes and atv's moved over, plus start building more storage shelving.

Here's a few cell pics:

So I started moving some of the toys in, now to get some work done.

I managed to grab a free Galaxy S4 from Best Buy the other day, so the cell pics should be better.

Today I picked up a rather large sign (10 ft. wide) from a friend of mine who closed down his motorcycle shop.

I figured every garage needs some cool signs! Plus I hated seeing it sitting over in the corner collecting dust......

Well I decided that I didn't really like the single shelf on each bench setup. I felt that I would have to keep walking back and forth too much to get chemicals, oils, etc. every time I needed something. So I decided to make a multi level shelf unit out of a few of them & keep everything in one spot. By using these shelves upside down I ended up having a built in lip, so bottles & cans stay put on the shelf. Plus I still have floor space available below.

Not too pretty, but functional.

While I was in a "get things done" mood, I went ahead & mounted the tire machine bolts into the concrete. My wife has been waiting quite a while for me to change her ATV tires......

The first pic is how the original setup was.

Busy day today.....

A friend & I finally setup the airlines in the shop & ran the electrical circuit for the welder.

While we were at Harbor Freight picking up a couple of small items I came across a mesh tarp that they sell and thought it would make a nice "cheap screen" for my 8'x10' roll up door and since I live in central Florida the bugs can get pretty bad this time of year, especially at night because of the lights in the shop! As I looked for fasteners I came across some nice round magnets that have hooks on them & grabbed a couple packs to be used as hangers for the screen.

It only takes about 30 seconds to put up or take down & only spent about $25. I may look into some other type of mounting but not too bad for a cheap experiment.

Here's a couple of pics:

:willy_nilDeal of the Day:willy_nil

I walked into a Harbor Freight a few hours ago to look around since I had some time to kill & as I checked out the clearance items I found this!

A US GENERAL PRO 56" 8 drawer top box. It was marked down to $350.00 from $799.99 retail( I did notice that it is currently on sale for $449.99 ).

But I didn't stop there, I beat them down to $240.00

The reason it was on clearance was the factory wrapped it in protective packaging before the paint was cured, so there is a slight crinkle finish of the paint on the top lid of the box & the keys are missing. I could care less about the paint & I'm going to drill out the locks and put in a couple of different ones anyway.

I got my spray foam insulation applied today! :rocker:

I cleared out most of the shop which made it very easy for the guys to lay down the plastic sheeting and spray the foam.

I also had a case of iced down bottles of water in a cooler for them.

These guys were very surprised that I took the time to make it as easy as possible for them to do the job. They said most of the time people could care less.

So while everyone was in a friendly mood, I asked if I threw them some cash on the side could they make a second pass on the ceiling. plus he went heavy on the walls too which was unexpectedly nice of him!

These guys were in & out in 4 hours!

Last week I got a quote for the fire barrier coating & application @ $2,500.

I saved myself $1,300 of that quote by going & buying the intumescent coating on my own & called up my best friend (who happens to be a painter) to apply it today after the spray foam guys left.

The A/C guy will be here next week. Unfortunately I'm not a friend of his......;)

Looks great... One question, how much of a sound barrier is the spray foam as compaired to regular insulation...
I'm wanting a place for my drum kit in the loft/man cave part of my shop when I build it and my neibours already don't like the noise much...lol...

Keep the pictures coming...

Not sure as I haven't got the place back together yet. There might be a thread somewhere on GJ that explains the differences in the sound deadening properties of various insulations.

Tell the neighbors to be glad you don't have a Dyno in the garage pulling top speed runs all night to get that extra couple horsepower...... or better yet, tell the neighbors to move if they don't like the drums.....:deathmeta

Once I get the place back in order I'll post up some more pics.

I completed the set today by grabbing the rolling (bottom) cart.

A big thanks to my wife who gave me permission..........well sort of.

She said " whatever " after I wore her down about it last night. :eyecrazy:

We all know "whatever" means YES GO AHEAD, right?

Just picked up a new to me "letter getter" since my mail box is about 3 miles from my front door.

Needs a little work but has potential. Good project!

Pretty busy weekend with a couple of projects.

I finally put in a ventilation fan that I picked up pretty cheap. It's an attic fan that I rewired to a switch instead of a thermostat. Then I made a plug from the cut out spray foam. This way I can keep the A/C in & pull the plug out to vent the building whenever I need to. I just need to finish filling in the ring with spray foam & paint to match.

Then, I repurposed one of the extra bench tops & some old scrap wood that had lying around. I decided to install a new utility sink that I picked up from CL for $20. I dropped it into the bench top so I didn't have to bend over to use it as these sinks seemed to always have very short legs. I left enough room on the left to cut out & drop in a self contained parts washer when I eventually come across a deal on CL or HF.
