They aren't made by SK.

The same sets are sold under the Mountain, EZ Red, and ATD brand labels (probably a few others too). They are probably made in China (no COO marks on the ATD ones at least) but they seem to hold up real good, we love them here at work.

I'll be getting a set for myself soon.

The ATD set appears to be the same as what E-Z Red dropped awhile back. The Mountain set should be the same although as rocket1420 noted, the count is now 90 position.

For whatever brand, these are made by a Taiwanese company called Kabo. Whether production is still in Taiwan, I don't know.

While pre-Ideal SK did sell some Taiwanese spline tools under its own brand, I don't know if they ever sold this particular style of wrench.

All are made by Kabo.

There are 72 and 90 tooth versions. Available both with and without reversible switches. Ratcheting box end extended out to create a bit of a socket. I believe the 72 tooth lack the extended box ends but I could be wrong and there might be version of both.

Most recently EZ-Red just introduced a 90tooth spline version with locking flex heads (not reversible however).

Old SK use to sell them, now its a wrench without a home as Ideal SK is dedicated to 100% USA. Better off buying Mountain / EZ-Red (both are essentially the same company). Matco also has a double flex end version.

The Matco posted in the second post are a separate set with a fixed box end and spline drive which I think are much more useful. There is also a version by KTC which are identical in design and length to the Matco's however they opted for standard 12pt ends and the KTCs are reversible. Downsides are price (as expensive as the Matco's without the convenience) and they don't have a 16 or 18mm made.

OP, I have the old EZ Red MM ones I got from someone on here b/c every body on GJ that had them seemed to really like them. I really like them as well, but I've used mine very little...but I hardly work on MM. Anyways, I'd go with Mountain/EZ and if you find that you use them a lot, then you can upgrade to Matco or what not.

I love having XL wrenches, but often they don't fit, so depending on what you work on....

Great wrenches regardless of whose name is stamped on them. I think steelman pro even has a set out.

The only thing I'll add is that some sets like the SK branded G pro version, had more of a socket boxed end with a little offset rather than a regular flex boxed end if that matters to you.

They will break eventually so, plan ahead and get a set from a local dealer that handle warranty or recognize the lack of warranty upfront from online sales.

rocket1420,

All this "research" on these wrenches is building a very tempting case for their purchase. They do look great as well.

Who has the "deal" on them?

The littlest one feels pretty thin, but they overall feel solid. I can't wait to try them out :)

Rocket1420,

Can you let us know how they perform? After buying the ratchets I wanted, I'm moving into my wrench collection.

I have needed a set like this before, but before I drop coin on this set, I'd like to hear your view on how you like them.

Thanks
Jason

I've had the EZRed RM6 set about 2 years now and use them daily.
I have sent back 4 for warranty during this time.
Be sure to keep copies of your receipt as you will be breaking them if you use them.

I have the mountain set. 1 yr in, and no issues. Use them at work atleast once a day.
Worth it, when you need it.
