No , I was the 1st to call. He said that he would call me back with calculated shipping to Oregon. When he called back he said he had been getting a ton of calls on it and some guy offered him $75 plus shipping. To his credit he said he would sell it to me for $75 shipped which shipping to Oregon would be $18. I thought about it but since I was buying it to flip I passed. I think there is some meat on the bone for someone but I am doing a garage floor in my garage this week and did not want to fork out that much money. It probably was dumb to pass but it was kind of the principal of the whole deal. From what I gathered from him he could use the extra money since he has a new baby. I am not a snappy guy so no big loss. Now if this had been a Plvmb box, heads would be rolling

I had a similar thing happen to me on another website. The seller was local to me, but when the ad broke on the website, people started calling and telling him how rare the car was. The price jumped by $2000 from the time that I spoke to him, till I got there to look at it 45 minutes later. Strange thing was that it was on Craigslist for 2 weeks before I learned about it, and some of my "friends" knew about the car, and passed on it for the lower price. Some people just have to ruin it for others.
That blows. Sorry to hear that. Same thing happened to me on a set of Snap-On sockets, ratchet, breaker bar, case, extensions. He got so many calls within minutes of posting the ad that he doubled the price.

Now ZK, I wouldn't call the seller dishonest at all.
He got a better deal prior to a second offer and even offered to cut his price to sell to someone here.
CL, to me is call, confirm and show up with cash in hand. Then figgure out if haggling will be the price going up due to demand or the price going down due to lack of others interest or need to sell quick.
I don't trust many local CL sellers. Buying out of state I;d never do unless I HAD to.
Shame this box sold so quick and so high $$$. I wanted to make the 45 minute trek up I-75 to get it this afternoon .

I probably should have called about it and stopped and got it as I was close to there anyhow yesterday, right after I posted about it. I didn't think about doing it though as I had to make a quick trip myself to get an item bought.

Wow really?!? I bought $25 worth of various small tools from a guy earlier this week via a craigslist ad. As he was going through other stuff in his garage he pulled out that exact box that was about 1/2 full with a couple of small combo wrenchs etc. I took it away for $10! I havent even really had a chance to look at it carefully as it went into my storage unit while I prepare for a move. I hadnt realized what a score it was!

LOL....in an effort to save face I'm going to say the seller was far more ignorant than I was in this case! The guy agreed to go through some of his other tools for me and should be giving me a call so I can poke through any of his duplicates. Heres to hoping he has some other interesting goodies!
I'll have to remember to snap some photos of this thing when I'm back at the storage unit.
