I picked up this Wilton C-0 vise for $30 bucks a few months ago. I used a lot of google and a lot of helpful people from GJ on tips for restoring it.

I got it taken apart, made myself an electrolysis tank and let each piece soak for about 12 hours.

Then I used a wire wheel to clean it up and get it ready for paint.

Then masked it off for painting.

Set up my makeshift paint booth in driveway.

I went with rustoleum metallic navy. I was looking for the common verde green but couldn't find it anywhere. I am happy I chose this color though.

Looks purple with phone flash but it's really a sparkly blue. Next pic shows better.

The finished product, I love it.

very nice restoration. that Wilton C0 usually comes with pipe jaws and a swivel base, but for $30 you got a great deal. also the parts you do have look almost new condition so wonder what happened to the other parts.

i too really like that color.

Thank you, I appreciate it.
Yea I saw those online, dang pricey. I may end up getting them later on but for now I'm going to keep my eye out on eBay and the classifieds here. I can't remember the last time I clamped down a pipe but it sure would look cool!

Waggoner: here's my Wilton C0 so you can see what yours would look like if you do decide to find pipe jaws and a swivel base for it.

the nice things about Wiltons that make them so valuable is that you can still buy new parts for them if you need one in most cases. also since they have made so many of them there are a lot of parts vises out there so just keep your eyes open on here and Ebay for the parts.

it will work now by mounting with a couple bolts in the swivel pin holes and if you really need a swivel either mount it on a rolling tool box so you have access to all sides or make a stand until you find the swivel base for it.
