Great find for $40 with the stand, jointer and extensions. What's the model number? Looks like the 9" I parted out.

Bluebolt, I couldn't find a model plate anywhere on this saw, any idea where to look? Do you happen to have the table insert for the 9"?

Good find Alienbaby!! That rolling work bench looks heavy duty and the rest ain't to shabby either!

Not a garage sale it was Craigslist but it was still a good deal. $25 for this little block head on the original stand. It isn't a commercial version but it is very smooth and nearly silent. This one was for a friend but I got the fun and finding and securing the deal. I will try to add more pictures later.

There were several promising estate sales today, so I decided to make a day of it - or half a day anyhow. Only one had enough people that the dreaded take a number kicked in, and I only had to wait 10 minutes or so. I ended up visiting 3 sales and one used tool store and came away with: Craftsman 5" vise - recent, Chinese. Wilton Shop King 3 1/2" missing Hardy and vise jaws but in great condition. Littlestown 140 4" vise, beat up but not rusty, serviceable, and 6 C-clamps 2 1/2" -6", all Adjustable, Brink&Cotton and Cincinnati. Some rust, but not twisted or sprung. I couldn't resist the 100' tape measure just because it's Lufkin. Total tab was $59.

:dunno: that was the only number I could see, no plate on the saw. The joiner number comes up with the saw combo below.
http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=15406

I am fairly sure it is a 103.20000, 20001, 20002 or 20003. Saws all look the same by photos. I have parts for a 103.2000 which I am sure fit all of them. Will look for the table insert. That saw table is bigger than your 8", see how the jointer is shorter? And the pedestal base won't fit your older 8" either.

Edit I do have the insert along with other parts.

It has no visible markings.
I will look again to be sure but the other is an Armstrong with a few Armstrong sockets.

Thanks, I'm looking for a 1935 vintage box or set, 9/32" drive that came inside a larger carry box and 1/2" drive set. Trying to slowly piece this set back together.

I had a good morning, I found a Dillon/Henrob cutting torch kit for $2. I also picked up a Coleman white gas lantern, stove, and heater for $12. I've never seen a heater before and I can't quite figure the thing out, anybody ever use one?

AE2, that is my favorite style of post hole digger. We once started adding pipe to the shank (they are pipe threaded) to see how deep we could go at my old house. We went about 15-20 ft and hit sand and water... We couldn't really get any further because the sand kept collapsing and back filling.

Hit two sales today. One advertised being open at 12:00 the other was the 3rd day of a sale ,well advertised and it opened at 10:00. Stopped at the first house and got my place in line ...#2 !! I went over to the 10:00 sale and found to my amazement alot of stuff for the end of a sale.It was priced a bit high but it was 1/2 off day so I didn't do too badly
004.jpg

005.jpg

007.jpg
A bunch of Matco,Snap On,Craftsman,Craftsman Professional Screwdrivers
Couple pair of Channellock items
Craftsman Impact Socket set SAE
Matco 23 pc 1/2" drive metric socket set from 10mm to 32 mm
A test light
and an IR Impact wrench for a friend who has been looking for one.
total at this stop was $125.00
The box of swivel sockets are from the next sale but got into the wrong photo grouping
Second stop opened at noon and while we were waiting in line, estate sale folks let others in the garage as it was around the corner. Fortunately it was only a couple people and they didn't pick fast.
I started filling my bag with items, nothing priced, made a pile and asked for a tally and continued to shop while they were doing math. First total was $60 and I was quite happy so I shopped more and found another $20 worth of stuff to buy. In the second sweep I found the double ended Crescent wrench along with several other Snap On wrenches as I was pleased with their pricing skills.
001.jpg

002.jpg

003.jpg

The impacts are Snap On ,I need 3/4" and 7/8" to complete the set
Crows feet are Snap On,
Ratchets are SK Wayne,Craftsman BE,Craftsman C,Duro
Sockets are Snap On ,Craftsman =v= series and an odd SK,Williams mixed in.
T-Bars are Craftsman and Snap On
Kent Moore carb tool
Proto Puller/slide hammer
pony spring clamps
Wrenches from Snap On and Herbrand
one small Plvmb doe wrench
Time to clean and sort and put away.

That kind is so much easier to use than the chompers.

Not a screaming deal but I think I did alright. I found a new guy to buy machinist tools from, he has tons of nos. He teaches machining at a career center. I picked these up today for $80 total.

1). Starrett S-555Z-7 seven piece jeweler's screwdriver set, new in box.

2). Starrett #20 solid square 6" in beautiful original wooden box.

3). Lastly, a Lufkin #901AS master planer gage set. NOS never been used. fine main adjustment. has cross and plumb levels, scriber attachments, and height extension posts. I have been lusting after one of these for a while but they are always north of $200. This one is PERFECT and has original cardboard box over pristine original wood box.:bounce::bounce::bounce:

Good stuff, guys!
I've been falling a little behind here... This is from a flea market last Sunday. Not many tools. In fact, I had to dig through a box of rusty junk to find these:

Plomb DBE, Proto Los Angeles DBE and combo, Vlchek offset DBE, Challenger DOE, New Britain combo, Craftsman and early Blackhawk sockets.

Did a bit better today. Pics to follow...

I didn't go to any garage sales today but I did set up a table at a church garage sale!

I didn't do too well as not a lot of folks came to it, but oh well.

One guy came by my table and goes"There's still tools here!!?!?!" He said usually tools are gone by the time he shows up! I didn't think I had them price high but like a said more women came the men and this one guy bought a motor and a storage container off me. Another guy picked a few sockets out of my craftsman odd balls sockets and said that's all he wanted even though I offered him the whole box for just $2 more and it had 28 more sockets in it??

Oh well, I 'll post the stuff in the sales section and see if anyone here would be interested!

Today I hit a swap meet that has been a mixed bag. Two years ago it took a while to find stuff worth buying. Last year, on the other hand, I was picking up treasures every time I turned around. This year fell somewhere in between:

Here we have a Craftsman 'V' selector 1/2" drive ratchet that cleaned up better than I thought it would, an SK sliding t-handle, Herbrand and Artisan adjustables (the Artisan has a locking mechanism I hadn't seen before), a later Craftsman 3/8" ratchet, an Indestro Select combo, a Hinsdale DBE, 2 SK combos, and 2 Bonney DOEs I didn't notice were the same until I got home... :dunno:

These all came from one seller:

Diamalloy dykes, Lodi flat-nose/wire cutting pliers, Meteor ignition pliers, K-D needlenose ignition pliers, and Indestro ignition pliers. Finally, at the bottom is the first pair of Steeldraulic pliers I've ever seen. Was thinking they'd be bigger... These aren't branded, but AA reports that Williams' part number for this tool was 1516.

Next up, sockets:

Two OTC swivels, a Patriot spark plug socket (never seen this brand, but it's obviously Indestro), one MAC, 2 Cornwell, 1 Indestro, 2 Giller, 1 Thorsen, a New Britain sender socket, 1 Armstrong, 3 SK, 3 Bonney, 2 Williams, 1 Craftsman, 1 Proto Los Angeles, and 1 early Blackhawk. The last row represents a disappointment for me. It's all P&C. I was sure I had at least the bigger sizes of a 1/2" drive set after digging through one vendor's box. A second stop yielded the smaller sizes, and I was pretty happy. Until I got home and looked closely at what I'd actually picked up. 4 7/8" sockets and 4 1-1/8" sockets... :headscrat

I'll wrap today up in the next post,

These items were sitting in one vendor's booth. When I asked for prices on them, the seller said they were his buddy's, who was out wandering around. :wtf: I hung around for a few minutes, then asked him to set the stuff aside until the real owner came by. He agreed. I bet I walked by 5 or 6 more times before the right guy was there. Fortunately, his prices were very good! :3gears:

A complete SK Wayne 3/8" set. There are a couple substitutions, but filling the holes with my spares shouldn't be a problem.

An SK Wayne combo wrench set in the roll. Aside from the painted-on owner's initials and the substituted 11/16", a lot of these look barely used. :rocker:
