I think it would be neat. Lot's of Euro tools I would like to try out, but the price of them new +shipping would be too great of a risk for a tool that I've never held. Some friendly diplomacy for our cousins across the pond.

What say ye'?

YES! Such a good idea! I would love to get my hands on a Facom nut splitter set (at a reasonable price) and a few Hazet tools.

Being from Australia I'd be very interested in this!

What are you in the market for? I'm a Toyota 4x4 fanatic and they grow on trees in AUS.

I'm game for anything else as well including cool road signs you would NEVER see here (Dingo crossing sign...lol!!), license plates or really anything cool (tool or auto related) and impossible to find here.

Maybe all those interested should post a wish list, as well as a list of items readily available for trade? I'll start:

Wish list:

-German made pliers set (dykes, needle nose, slip joint)
-Koken 3/8" speed handle.
-Euro made Vernier caliper

For trade:

-Armstrong 3/8" Aero ratchet (88 tooth)
-3/8" Proto speed handle
-1/2" and 3/8" Proto ratchet.
-Ingersoll Rand 1/2" air drill

I'll check back with the model numbers, I also have many more items, these are just off the top of my head.

Koken is widely available in Australia, no?

you can get it here though I wouldn't say its widely available and even with shipping factored in i've found it cheaper to get anything koken related directly from Japan via rakuten (the mark up in Australia is a joke) - that being said just across the pond in New Zealand, ive found Koken tools to be in an abundance at reasonable prices.

It would be one way though! Unless there's an overseas market for old Sidchrome tools. Most Aussies on car forums I've visited seem happy with Supercheapauto (SCA), Repco, Stanley, KC Pro-am, Kinchrome, SP tools. Littered within those choices are pocket advocates for Stahlwille, Knipex and Snap On.

It's only on GJ that I have seen toolboxes full to the brim of quality tools. Even U.S DIYers have toolboxes that would put many a local mechanic to shame. Different culture and requirements for the boss to have all the specialty gear I guess. Then you've got Monte on the Euro front being a brand ambassador for German tools. He's probably accounted for tool growth to external markets for German tool manus just through the old world thread.

I have succumbed and now own NWS, Wiha, Reinnsteig, Hazet, Felo, Wera and Knipex tools. I've developed brand awareness that I'd not had prior to GJ. I don't consider that a negative.

Wish list:
Wiha insulated pliers and screwdrivers set-32985 would work
A set of quality screwdrivers with comfortable handles
Wera Zyklop ratchet, either 1/4 or 3/8 drive (they look very cool)
NWS pliers
Also interested in some cool signs that I could not get in the USA

For Trade:
A set of Snap-On Pliers-PL400B

I can also get basically any snapon, mac, or matco tool if given a week or two. They are all vendors at the technical college I go to, so I have easy access

Any cool street signs/license plates or advertising signs? Let me know what you are interested in. If I don;t have it I can more than likely get it.

Streetsigns and licence plates are hard to get (legal) in Switzerland.
There's a small village about one hour away from me who have to replace their pretty often.

I got a sign combo looking exactly like that for my 50th birthday.
Never asked where it came from :)

Haha, What part of Switzerland? My grandparents came over to the US from Switzerland. I would be very interested in any Swiss hand tools etc. I am not really sure what would even be available but I can get pretty much anything that you would want in return.

I wouldn't mind doing this as well. I'm stationed in Germany right now. If I pick things up cheap from flea markets or something I can throw it in here, just not sure how often that will happen.

New tools seem expensive as f*ck over here.

When you say combo, do you mean you currently possess two of them? If so, I'd be game in making a trade.

Means one combo of "50 Bitsch" :)

The village is in the swiss Canton of Wallis. Where I will be spending alot of time next week exploring some alp passes!
