Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

I like Labor day or Halloween, come mid-Nov my wife will have me in X-mas mode and all tool purchase's will be done till Jan. Wright doesn't manufacture many things that SK does and I already have about $1,500 worth of stuff saved in my Amazon wish list. If the sale happens any time up until Halloween I'll be just as happy to give the business to Epstein's.

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

Epsteins has never had new SK items, just new old stock stuff. Why are they adding SK? I'm not complaining, just curious. Tooltopia almost always has the best prices on SK so I will be interested to see Epsteins prices. I'm in.

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

will their ratcheting wrenches be available to order in the fall?

My fingers are crossed they will be.

I vote for Labor Day. What better way to celebrate the American worker than buying tools made in the USA by American workers.

I'm in.

+1. Labor day sounds good to me.

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

How about having the deal straight from the SK site with a special garage journal code at checkout to get something like 50% off on US made tools.

If this happens my Snap-On guy will miss me. I would like to support SK with their push to sell US made tools. I do not have any direct retailers that sell SK near me. I will buy some SK US made tools when I find them. I would be willing to try ordering them from their website with a good discount. I really like to see, feel, and use a tool before I buy it.

I think Black Friday would be good, but a Green Friday in October seems more appealing.

Not exactly accurate. They are a dealer for SK. They have more than just closeouts.

But they don't stock a ton of stuff. They picked them up after Ideal bought SK. Wright is kind of their bread-and-butter brand, so it makes sense that they don't also carry lots of SK tools, since they're somewhat similar in price.

This is gonna hurt. I "need" 2 sets of metric and 2 sets of SAE Superkrome combination wrenches.

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

After looking through Epstein, I can confirm I will buy the 3 piece inverted torx wrench set.

I would advise having it through another dealer, as the Epstein inventory of SK is VERY limited. Find a vendor with a bigger inventory, and I will buy more. I have a LOT of tools, and while I'm happy with my SK tools, I don't want to buy doubles for the hell of it. I can honestly say if the deals are close to Tooltopia standard pricing, I'll spend between $100-$150. Make it worth my while, with a good discount and good selection, I may go higher.

Semi-deep metric and SAE 1/4 drive socket sets are definitely on my radar.

EDIT: How would Epstein have the entire catalog available (as hinted in the first post)? Email part numbers, they respond with pricing? I like Epstein, but their current inventory from a search of "SK" is kinda slim.

I'm in. It will be interesting to see how prices compare to ToolTopia. I will hold off on my ToolTopia order.

Halloween is a good choice IMHO. I think Black Friday has too many other deals that need to be bought.

Veterans Day (Nov 11) is another special day coming up. Don't know how actual Vets feel about their day for something like this. Perhaps some Vets can comment?

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

I'd love to see Epsteins carry the entire SK catalog, (even if it's all drop shipped from SK), assuming they could be competitive.

I've always thought Epsteins and SK could be a "marriage made in heaven".

Yes, Sept 23 sounds about right. (before the holidays drain the budgets)

I'm sure many of us are on the fence depending on the discount or deals available.

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

Well speaking for myself the new ratcheting wrench line and their trim/panel tools would be all im interested in so if its a matter of waiting a few more weeks for the ratcheting wrenches to be available to order on this SK day i'd be for that.

What about giving the members time to build capital, this way we truly show our buying power.

Toolsday, November 25, 2014.

Gives us all something to be truly thankful for (toolwise), and time to still gather momentum for Christmas.

Count me in.

I don't really mind what the date is... I have an emergency fund for just this purpose. That's what emergency funds are for, right? :lol_hitti

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

I'm in. I would like a set of metric and standard extra long combination wrenches to replace my Gearwrench sets at work. I've also been eyeballing their set of indexing prybars.

Edit- Don't really care what the date is just keep us updated.

International participants welcome? I'd love some SK stubby spanners but there are no distributors in Australia, hopefully they're not too sharp with shipping.

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

I'm in, but it might not be for much, my tool budget is currently in the red a bit. I have been eying one of their 3/8" stubby ratchets, also need some 1/4" extensions. I think some time in October would be good, Columbus Day, Halloween, whatever. I just wouldn't get too deep into November, we wouldn't want this to get lost amongst all of the Black Friday commotion.

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

I'll either be buying their flex head 1/4 or flex head 3/8 in 1/4 body.

I vote Sept. 23 this year, but maybe doing it Labor Day next year?

The 23rd will give us some time to save up.

I forgot to mention my date preference, I would prefer October (since I will be out of the country most of September).

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

I am loving this Idea. I have been wanting the long 15" 1/2 drive ratchet, the thin wall impact sockets, and the extra long screwdriver set. I recently bought an SK 3/4 drive ratchet and it is mighty like Thor's hammer! Everyone should have one just to admire it even if you won't use it.

I'm all for it. I love SK, and the tools I have bought from them have been great!

I'd love for it to be September 23rd! I think that is a great day (plenty of warning, but enough time to start saving)! I've got a lot of things I'd love to pick up.

Their 3/4 drive ratchets are beasts! 72 teeth too!

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

SK stuff has been a favorite of mine since the 80's.
Their chrome is creamy and delicious.

Date?
Doesn't matter.

Suggestion?
Maybe, in addition to some regular discounts, a HUGE doorbuster-type deal. Perhaps SK has something in the warehouse that they have a lot of and they'd like to get rid of on the cheap.
Maybe a blow-out, "you can't afford NOT to buy this" deal.

Regardless, thanks to SK rep, Bull, and anyone else who has a hand in this.

Re: Super-Exciting News for SK Day!!

Late Sept into Oct would be best IMHO - I'm on the verge of sending another order to Epsteins right now for a benny as it is for things I've found since (or at but couldn't afford) Epstein's day.
I'm not sure what, but I'll get something for SK day. Also no real dealers near me (only one is Grainger who is overpriced on almost everything they sell and doesn't locally stock many tools).
I'm in search of US made reversible ratcheting combo wrench sets...trying to put away for an Armstrong set instead of going for more Gearwrenchs, but if SK enters the market...

I would love to see if the their ratcheting wrenches are out by then. If not I'm sure I can find something.
