that was a couple hrs well spent! Great build thread!
Selfish of me, I know, but I vote for you to skip the 3000+ miles so as to free up more time for the house.

Still keeping an eye on you and the bike(s).
Everything looks good, as usual.
ps: Just got me the 2013 KTM adv gearbox(5500km) for project.

Finish the bathroom. It might be superficial to you, but to her it means progress. Please refer to rule #1 in the big book of marriage and I quote, "Rule 1 - If momma ain't happy, nobody is happy." Heck, it will give you points with her and extra time to work on the Guzzi!![]()
damn you Gregor
a new lens (canon ef 24-105 1:4 L IS USM) and wifi SD card to view my shots live time.
Question re: tracking shot speed. Do you need to be travelling so fast to get the effect you are looking for?
70mph is cranking along
Love this thread - one of my all-time favourites.
Very nice.
I own a bunch of REV'IT! gear, their new urban line of stuff is pretty great. Pretty much what I've been wanting for the past decade (good protection that doesn't look "moto specific").
Thanks for the tour yesterday. I had just skimmed through this thread a day or two before my visit and, wow, what progress! It's a great looking place and it's very easy to see how fantastic it's going to be once you're finished.
Like I said when you came over - I tend to only see all the things I either screwed up or have yet to do so it's nice to be reminded that I've come a long way.
That's funny and I have a lot of reference points; on the walls, the doors, the tables... I am glad we're not finished painting yet since it's going to be a full time affair painting over my 3 y/o's mess.

you know what would be awesome ? , especially since you have small kids, a wall that is a chalkboard,... !
~~I sometimes find myself approaching the house door and pushing the unlock button on my trucks key fob. It's an intuitive technology that isn't here just yet. I'm sure it's there by now in a high end system but maybe those combos are the way to go. I'll have to look into that. No keys. I like that idea.

Yeah OK... it is $250, but how cool is that!
I laughed when you said that in the motorcycle world there is prob less than 2 degrees of separation, and mentioned earlier that Kolb is a friend of yours. As a Suzuki SV owner, his name is well known in the community.
Keep up the great work and know that the end will come.
Cheers

When I installed it she looked at it and, instead of saying, "wow, you're really killing it on your stainless welds" instead said, "Umm, why isn't it finished?" Huh? "Why can you see all the welds?"
Hey ... wow ... Robertson screws ... I thought that was more of a Canadian thing .... Nice welds !

Having just finished my Guzzi exhaust I was in my zone for stainless and put down some very nice bead.

Because they're amazing! Duh!
I love this

Nice welds! I would want to keep them, but I think I would stick with the exhaust and let her win the call in the bathroom. I am very slowly leaning to pick the battles worth fighting.
Now the thread has gone from the wood phase to the welding phase.
After I got a tour of the place the nice lady asked how I got started in Festool and I placed the blame squarely on your shoulders. Told her about your build here and your FOG username so hopefully you get a t shirt or something from them!
did you order the mirror with the holes? or did you cut those yourself? if yourself, how?
KTM shows up and updates go dark. SURE you've been working![]()

Right?! This man forced me to cash in on some of the reconditioned sales.

Okay I'll end my threadjack there.
