They run hot deals a lot on hammers.

Just an FYI they are switching over to new style hammers. So if you buy some online maybe select store pick up to make sure you get the new style. They are gray painted, have craftsman in raised metal on the handle and the rubber grip is more ergonomic.

I checked two local stores and they are selling the new style for the local close out discount on the old style currently.

Still says made in USA

I should have snapped some photos. Handle feels great. They have that new C logo on them.

Huh, with the raised logo and everything on the handle that looks like a surprisingly quality piece for a Craftsman tool.

I have liked the plain-jane Vaughn Craftsman hammers. I'll check these out next time I'm in a Sears.

Those look very much like an evolution of the Vaughan designs. Very good stuff if so.

Remember, never hit a chisel or punch with a regular hardened head hammer like shown above. Always use ball peen or shot filled deadblow hammers when hitting other hardened surfaces, such as chisels or punches. Else one or the other end will chip and break and could hit something. - Paul

No new ball peen hammer though?

I just got one of the new style ball peens. Same hickory handle, same head just the lettering on the head has changed and the craftsman name is no longer burned into the handle, just silkscreened. Exactly the same build quality as before otherwise.

I stand corrected, only one of my Vaughn made ball peens has the craftsman name burned into the handle. The rest are all silk screened.

What is the style of the one on the right? It looks a bit different.
Comes in 14 and 17oz.

Made for framing use. Has the magnetic nail holder on top and the round striking surface is kinda big.

I have the same type craftsman model before this. It is still on the current website. It also comes in a kit with a crow bar and nail puller.
