Need a set of screwdrivers

OK, I'm in need of a decent set of screwdrivers. I see a lot of people have good luck with Craftsman Pro's and Wiha. The 10pc Craftsman Pro's are on sale for $50 and Wiha has a Heavy Duty Softfinish 5 piece set for $30 and 7piece Microdriver set for $31. What would you guys get? Right now I just have some plain old craftsman screwdrivers and they are pretty well beat.

If your looking for the best go for WERA or PB, WERA will run a little less $$$

I saw on my last flyer from Chads they have a deal on your first order for WERA tools a code, testthebest takes an additional 15% off your order first order of WERA. They're regular prices are far under retail, so the extra 15 is a steal.

But don`t watch the other videos because then you want the Zyklop too, the Rapidaptor, the Kraftform Kompakt and all the other stuff ........ :D

The slotted driver selection is different.

One set has 3, 4, 5.5, 6.5mm tips, the other set has 3.5, 4, 5.5, 6.5mm tips, all slightly shorter than their counterparts in the other set. Both sets have Phillips #1 and #2.

I have no idea as to why the sizing is so subtley different - there may be other differences that.

I have Weras with the lasertip. Wow, they feel good, and the tips really grab the heads of the screws, even when offset.

Another vote for PB Swiss!

Get them here from Amazon.

The slotted drivers are a must, since they fit correctly in all screws because of the hollow ground tips (pic is of a 20 year old driver, not one of the new ones):

I have the craftsman pro and like them. If there is a problem, then there are many stores in my area to exchange for new.

That's the delivery date on my Wera's too. I ordered a Ranger Floor jack earlier this week and it won't be here til Monday either. Was hoping for the weekend, but that didn't help it.

jshillin, I think you did good; I have the "micro" kraftform screwdrivers and they are awesome for working on tiny fasteners, like in computers; the handles are incredible! The turning power is the great and helps to loosen those tiny torx screws in computer laptops and hard drives. Please let us know what you think of them, when you get them! A "mini review" would great, as well! :)

As far as I'm aware, laptops and desktops only use phillips and slotted screws. Where have you seen Torx used?

Um, apple products, hard drives, cell phones, XBOX 1, 360, PS2 .... torx are popular; at least what I work on! :)

My very first Snapon purchase was 24 years ago, extra long torx to open up a Mac Plus, for I think $16 at the time.

Recently I bought the Craftsman pro 10 pc set for $30 on sale, but one of the first I used a blade, twisted the metal in the tip. No problems with the others or the replacement from Sears, but I kind of like the Wiha "heavy duty" series better.

ah, I see what you mean. I just took a look at a spare HD, and yup, the top plate is secured with a few torx screws. I've definitely also seen torx on consoles and smaller devices, as well as those darned security torx.
