Going down to Virginia beach this weekend. And I see there's a few NT stores in the area. Anything of note worth getting? Counter example would be like HF 25" breaker bar $9.99. Not looking for anything specific, just a general over view of whats worth the time and money.

Thanks.

Dont think theres a NT in VA beach anymore. There is one in Norfolk with a HF right down the street as well. I would say Klutch wrenches if you need any. I wont buy hf wrenches klutch seem way better, especially the jumbo wrenches.

You're right. It moved to Hampton
There's also the one in Norfolk. And I think Richmond?

Impact sockets! When they closed out all the old stuff I bought a 3/8" deep set for next to nothing. Figured it was worth a shot, and it's paid off. They're not the best, but after almost a year of daily use I'm very happy. The impact extensions have held up just as well.

If you have any use for 3/4" drive sockets (or 1" for that matter...), I'd highly recommend them. I picked up a few to plug some holes in my set, and the ones I've used have worked out fine. Same goes for 3/4" extensions and impacts.

I was told by management that the new product line is exactly the same as before, with a new brand stamped on them. Be sure to check the close out section, there is probably some of the dirt cheap old stuff left.

Not sure what your needs are, but I have one of these folding work platforms.

They are very nice to have if you need a little extra height while doing a project. Long enough to walk around on. Very lightweight for its size too. I use mine for working on equipment, fullsize pickups or my Scouts.

Like chipper says, they have the cheapest price on Ernst products. Nice selection too.

Janaf shopping Center area, VB Blvd and Military Hwy. HF is about a mile away off Mlitary Hwy.

NT has some pretty good pressure washer set ups and parts.

Pick up their 3.5T long reach floor jack and deliver it to me. :)

They want too much for shipping (and their Hotline membership doesn't cover this...not sure why I even bought the membership to begin with).

I must have scored the same set at the Hampton Store, paid around $16 a couple of months ago. For all the use I'll give them, I'm delighted.

FWIW this is identical to the HF version, which can be had more cheaply with coupons or on sale. It's a great little product. Rock solid.

They have prybar set on special right now.
The impact guns are good, composit version of hf, with IR style fwd/rvrs buttons.

People at the one, an hour than me are cool, same as our hf people.

Have fun bro.

DUDE! northern tool metric stubbies. 10-19 for like 9 bucks! ive had great luck with titan products from ratchets to locking extensions for 1/4" hex impacts, ratcheting wrenchs. and the titan 30" breaker bar isnt to bad either altho i broke one on a subaru axle nut with like a 6 ft cheater.... that axle nut was tuff as nails tho took a red wrench and a 3/4" impact to geter loose

Most items will be cheaper at HF. However, I still go in my local one from time to time to see what's on clearance.

The tire irons rock! Used hell out of them with no problems, at 1/3 price of KenTool ones. Slide hammer bead breaker is great too.
Little 3 gallon parts washer is the **** for taking to the mess... Love it for full floater truck axle seal jobs. Just slide it under and wash off a the funk.
They have a combination brass/plastic deadblow hammer I've best the piss out of with no issues.

They carry Milton air fittings, Goodyear hoses, some Ernst and Hansen organizational stuff, Quantum storage bins, Arcan jacks (nice if you don't have a Costco membership to get one there), Homak tool boxes, and misc other goodies. Sadly, most of the hand tools aren't anything special.

I buy my Milton fittings there because they're cheaper than the one other place in town that carries a decent selection of them, and they're the only place that carries the high flow V fittings locally.

I have some of their screwdrivers that were given to me as a gift 10 years ago, they're actually pretty comfortable and have held up well. They're in my camper box now but they have seen quite a bit of use.

Can't say on must haves but here's what I go in there for

Carhartt, Dickies, and a few other brands clothes are great off season when they put them on clearance.

Refurb husqvarna stuff.

Usually they have better prices on Titan tools than anywhere else local (that's just the auto parts stores for me)

I usually buy abrasives, misc stuff like impact extensions, u joints, outdoor gear/parts like wheels for wheelbarrow from them first before I go to HF or lowes. sometimes it depends what it is but even though hf is cheaper, northern tends to hire people who know what they're working with.

Well I picked up a 1/2 rh flex ratchet. Looks identical to an sk or blackhawk with knurled handle. And 8 sockets for my empty socket trays. 6 and 7 mm in 6 and 12 point in deep and shallow. Came to about $46.

I must say I was blown away with the klutch tool line appearance. I really like the double ratcheting flex box wrenches. But at $40+ plus, not in my future, especially since id have to have a full metric set. I was going to get the extra long flex 3/8 titan ratchet, but they was out.

The open stock of sockets was by far the best I've ever seen. Chrome and impact in everything up to 2.5". But I didn't see any 1/4 open stock?

Oh the other thing I seen I wish I had a use for was the pliers package. 20 pliers and what looked like a plyworks prack for $90. It looked very nice. Pictures to come later of my little haul.
