Saw a used Craftsman model 20511 for sale, price


























Saw a used Craftsman model 20511 wire welder for sale, $175. Are they any good? It is a 120 volt and I have heard that they are too small. I realize a tank for gas would be needed. How does the wire feed work? I assume a separate mechanism is needed to feed the wire.

It's made by century. It probably was around $350 new. I'd pass on it for something better, hobart or lincoln.

Depends on what you want to weld.

I'll recommend the one I have. Lincoln 180 dual. You can run beads all day on body stuff and up to 1/8-3/16 but kick it in the *** when you need to do a little bit of 1/4 inch and even 3/8 if you know how to prep, gap and multi pass.
I tried to kill mine doing a wood stove and never even triggered the thermal shutoff.
WAAAAY over "duty cycle". Not a hiccup.
I ran the hell out of my 140 for many years and sold it to trade up about 9 months ago and start anew but I love being able to run The Dual on 110 when away from the shop.switch your 110 breakers in the garage-shop out to 30 AMP. You should anyway for 2-3 HP saws,drills, shop vacs and stuff.
I gave up on Millers years ago. Crappy control cards and the drive system can't match Lincolns. I was going to get the 216 but you can't toss it in the car.
