Ridiculous offer for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

It's a corded Porter-Cable impact driver, well-reviewed everywhere. If I didn't already have a corded impact driver, I'd be all over this thing.

It'll be on sale for $60 and then there'll be a $40 mail in rebate on top of that. Back when I got mine, no one had these for less than $70.

Monomach, I owe you one. I had looked at that ad twice and never did notice the P-C driver. Picking one up tomorrow.

Why would someone get this over a cordless impact? Not trying to be an as$ just wondering.

You can use one of these all day. If you do that with a cordless, you're going to have a lot of battery changes. If you're using NiCad, you'll overheat your batteries, which shortens their life permanently. You'll also lose torque as the battery drains. If you're using Li-Ion, the thermal regulation switch will trigger, cutting off power to your tool.

Also, to get the cordless one with two batteries, you're spending $130 vs the $20 here.

Corded tools are basically better than cordless tools in every way except portability.

User level and application.

Porter-Cable is addressing the problem of needing the power of a cordless impact drivers, but for extended-use applications.

They launched the 1/4-inch Hex 4.3-Amp PCE201 specifically to give tradesmen an option in the workplace.

This impact driver is designed for deck builders, steel roofing installers and other tradesmen who complete numerous fastening applications in challenging workplaces (but who have easy access to power).

I'd love to have it, but no local stores in my area. Too bad it's not available online

I guess I may grab it to drive screws while doing tile jobs. Will save my cordless some wear.

Seems like a lot of effort to make $35...

It may not be $35. He probably bought t he max for his household (2). Then he could have gotten his mother to buy 2. Then his sister. Then his niece, etc, etc. In 6 months, he'll be able to get $55 for them pretty easily.

People spend a couple of hours picking up refrigerators, tearing them apart for copper and aluminum, and dropping them off at the dump for like $12. I don't get it, but there's no shortage of those folks.

I guess I was thinking of the pleasure of dealing with the typical Craigslist buyers more than anything. You know the ones, the "yo you still got it bro?" emails, the late night phone calls asking if you'd trade it for a timeshare or some magic beans, the barely intelligible text messages offering you 20% of your asking price. The last time I sold something on Craigslist I was pretty close to just throwing the item away out of sheer spite near the end. For me even $100 profit isn't worth the aggravation...

It's also 40% heavier than my M12 gun.

Sorry, but I'd take portability and lightweight anyday. Keep 2 extra batteries on hand, one on the charger and one waiting to go into the tool. If you're overheating the batteries, you're using the tool wrong/using the wrong tool.

I get there's a price difference, but if you use the tool enough, the price difference is more than worth it IMHO.

Apples and oranges. This thing puts out a lot more torque than an m12. That extra weight is muscle.

A lot?

20 more ft-lbs isn't a lot IMHO. And if you're approaching those limits, see my earlier mention of using the right tool.

It's a lot when the m12 only puts out 70 ft lbs in the first place.

It's still apples and oranges. This thing is in the class with bigger, more powerful drivers than yours. If they'd made it smaller and weaker, we'd be talking about the same thing.

Your argument could also be made against m18 or dewalt 20v. They don't outclass this one in weight or torque.

Check your numbers, bud.

http://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/cordless/2453-22

1200 in lbs, 2.2 lbs.

http://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/cordless/2653-22ct

1600 in lbs, 3.1 lbs.

versus 1450 in lbs, 3.25 lbs for the Porter Cable.

Still a great deal for $20, but I'd probably buy it as a gift for my father if anything.

When I check the numbers, I see you posted one with a lot less power and one with power and weight numbers that pretty much line up with this one...?

Only on garage journal would someone hate on an impact comparable to an m18 that costs less than the m18's plastic case, lol.

I had my brother grab two. This will come in handy when laying down cement board underlayment. The other will go to my dad.

Not hating on the deal as I've said over and over, just correcting your facts.

I'm not one to own two or three of the same tool, I'd rather save the space in my garage for something else.

I wonder how many Menards even had. My local Menards was out by 10am Friday.
When I looked the store up online Sunday evening they showed them still in stock.
Just something to get suckers like me in the store. Probably only had one in stock when the sale started

I thought they only had a few, too. I stopped at the busiest of the Menards stores here last night and asked about them. The guy re-stocking the power tool aisle said they had "an end cap full," but they were sold out by 8am Friday.

I'm not too shocked, I guess. This was a real doorbuster, better than a lot of Black Friday deals.

Our Menards and the ones near here all showed it in stock when I checked this afternoon. I went boating and forgot to pick one up.

I agree for $20 you cant beat it. Lugging the cord around while it gets twisted, stuck on a board, someone trips on it, gets to be a pain in the neck. I'll choose a portable over a cordless any day.
