That's a really solid reel. I have the 1/2" one in my garage and have used it for about 2 years now. Never given me any issues. I think some of the reviews on Amazon reported some leaks around the connections, but if you just re-fit them with new teflon sealing tape, they should be fine.

I think this is a pretty good deal. Should i get the 3/8" or 1/2" line? This would just be for around the garage. I won't have any large air requirements like a sand blaster.

Best reel I have found is by Rapid Reel. They quit making them but you can find them on eBay.

No Goodyear reel at Costco... You can get 2 generic reels, like the one in Costco at HF for 90 bucks. The guys here will pay the money for a good genuine Goodyear real.

I didn't mean to infer that the Costco reel was a GY. It's obviously not, but other than having the reel mounted in double shear on the GY vice single on the Costco, what's the diff?

The Costco reel does have the same design as the HF version, also at $90.

Here is the one I was referring too. It have it and it is great. That GY one looks like it is made out of thinner stamped metal.

The Goodyear reels are made by Tekton IIRC, and made in China. They're good reels, but I doubt their much better than other "off-brand" reels of the same design.

School me up...what makes the GY reel better?

Don't know maybe the pretty blue color, shot I have a cheap old Husky 50' hose and reel that I paid 40 bucks for, its worked out so far. I believe the hose is Genuine Goodyear and made in the US, as for the real itself? probably China.

Oh and HF is 67.49 with 25% coupon or the 25' version 44.99 with the 25% off coupon.

Yep. All that spring **** will break and wear out.

I've found automotive **** with the Goodyear name on it *****. I. E. Goodyear floor jacks and Jack stands sold at Sams Club.

Rapid reel also makes the best garden hose reels. Not cheap though. I have three I have had for about ten years. Still look and function like new.

If you have the hose reel, then consider adding a pneumatic filter and regulator assembly to the installation. Ingersoll Rand has a clearance outlet shop online with filter/regulators selling for less than $25 with free shipping. I found out about this site from another GJ member.

I never bought from Woot before so I thought I would try this item. I will never use Woot again. I completed the purchase online with no problem and left on a trip. My card was charged and all appeared well. I came home and received an email that I had successfully cancelled my order?????? My card still has not been refunded. They say they don't charge until an item has shipped. Don't believe it!

I had the same experience - they sent me an e-mail saying that I had cancelled the order. I responded on their customer service website saying that I didn't cancel and still want the item. No response. I sent e-mail to their customer service e-mail address. No response, and they haven't credited the charge on my credit card.

This wasn't my first order with Woot but I'm with GS - I'll never use Woot again. It's not worth the hassle.
