old USA stock combis at Sears

I was checking out the tool department reset at the Lakeline mall Sears and found that some "Made in the USA" stock had resurfaced. Must have been clearing/cleaning out the stockroom and shelving. $39.99 each with Craftsman Club.



Also picked up some titebond wood glue and 18ga staples from their 75 percent off clearance wingstacks. came out to about $2 per item

I noticed that after I took the photo! Thought maybe it was because of the small size. Or somebody did a switcharoo? not enough of an issue to warrant a return for a Chinese set, lol

I think sometimes when the sizes get that small the maker only has 6 point. Not sure if CM has 12pt 7mm but I would guess maybe they don't in that model wrench.

I have every size of Craftsman RP 12pt. combination wrench and my 7mm and 6mm are 12pt. I would guess it was switched out.

Lucky for me theres a sears parts closing and they have a ton of nos USA combis for 30% off.

But he said that their Craftsman hand tools line is coming back to the good ol USA sometimes in 2016 or 2017. Hope so.

You ain't kidding, walked in my local Sears last week its a mess, tool section is a joke and a bunch of clearance stuff only a dollar off full retail. All the individual sockets and wrenchs gone.

I have the exact same 26 piece metric set (made in USA) sitting on my floor right now and the 7mm is a 12 point.

yep. only 4 or 5 sizes of pros. barely a full selection of open stock raised panels. most of the time the pegs are empty. only keep one or two of each size. they want you to buy wrench sets.

one day i saw some ratchet wrenches on sale for 88 bucks. i went in next day because i forgot something, they were 91. i can get them for 63 online. their pricing is so up and down.

3 tier 26" combo on friday was 243 bucks. their dynaglide. when i had went back that next day it was 483. salesman told me it was a special 8 hour sale. i guess you just have to go in the store everyday or keep an eye on the garage journal for the deals.

theres a few nos usa 255 pc sets at the outlet near me. 149 is not a bad price at all, but i haven't decided its worth my money yet.

My stores have a 94 piece for 44 I believe. There was a 71 piece too but those were cheap and gone.
