Hey guys I'm having hell trying to figure out a good way to keep these things from rolling round in my box everytime I open and close my drawers.....(bugs the **** out of me)
What's some good ideas to keep them in place?
I've tried the whole metal socket rail idea but that's kinda annoying.... :dunno:
So I could use some help with this one guys...

Who knows?
Just a crazy idea, but use small round magnets and some flat bar stock (small) to form a square for them. Then lay them down in opposite directions side-by-side. Heck, you could get by with only using the magnets and bar stock on two sides if you use the draer sides for the other half.

rubber mat material works really good. Sears is having a sale right now on their tool box mat material.

You're back! I just fit them in around the socket organizers, works great. Also less tendency to roll or move if you lay them lengthwise in the drawer rather than crossways.

Yeah I do the same as ruger. I just lay them where they won't roll, the top of my box is pretty packed as his is. I have them by size and by impact/chrone

Don't want to hijack a thread but he asked the same question a while back.

Ruger556 I see you have a 3/4" ratchet. What did you end up getting? Looks like a K-D or maybe a NAPA?

For smaller ratchets and extensions I use rubbermaid silverware trays from target or Wal-Mart. Longer ones lie in drawer length wise.

I used some craft foam to make an extension holder. Takes about 5 minutes to make and they have held up for a couple of years thus far.

I've got the HH 44" box which came with foam liners. I have the same issue with **** rolling around when I shut the door. What I wanted to try is to take some thin metal and a hand brake I saw at Lowes and try to make some custom sized organizer trays of different lengths and widths.

Ah. That would be why mine is fine. I keep mine in the top of my box. It's changed a lot and more has been added since but this gives you an idea.

I went with the " have so many so they have no room to roll" technique. Expensive but effective! I have seen bar magnets lined up also for your extensions and ratchets to stay put on. I like this idea but haven't invested the time/money.

Damn blank slots, hansen forces you to fill.

I know :-/ I've been trying to figure out if I want to complete the set with the rest as craftsman or what. I have the older stamped craftsman, I hear the new ones are lasered.

If they roll around.....that means you have room for more. If you have more they won't roll around. More is better than less. :rocker:

I was trying to add pictures to my previous post. My old computer crapped out, & I lost all them. I had to figure out how to import them to the new box.

Here is what I meant by filling up the drawer, & they will not roll around.1364741305982.jpg

Ruger_556, is your box a Proto 40" work station. I have one in red, nice box. I bought it from a lady who worked for Stanley in Covington GA, before they closed the plant, & moved it all to Concord, NC.

I got a steal. She must have gotten an even better deal. It was still in the factory carton. Bought a nice top box, and a Blackhawk top box also.

I use the HF plastic organizing trays for mine. Sears sells the same exact ones under the Craftsman name. I dont have many duplicates and they are sorted by drive size, so its easy enough to quickly grab the extension I'm looking for.

Still, those are nice boxes. I can't believe how much stuff will disappear into one.
