GFI in attic keeps tripping

Hello,

I am looking for some advice. I wired an external security camera. The power feeds through my attic. In my attic I installed a GFI to plug the camera into. I did this because the area may get wet. It is very very hot and humid in the attic, and the GFI keeps tripping after a few hours with little or no load plugged into it. Has anyone else experienced GFIs tripping in humid locations? I used a weather resistant GFI also. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind the over hot ambient temperature in the attic will definitely contribute to the unit tripping, just like any other circuit interrupter. Is it possible to relocate the GFI to a cooler location?

If it is hot and humid in your attic, you may look into better attic ventilation. My attic is hot, but not humid. I live in Virginia, the armpit of the US, and it stays humid here. I may be wrong, definately not an expert, but you may want to look at that. Mold and what not would be a real PITA.
